N L Dalmia PGDM experience

The college is overall a well infrastructure and qualified faculty based institution. Do consider the course and college for PGDM FINANCE. The college also offers graduation courses and MMMS course affiliated with Mumbai University. However, I am a student of PGDM finance. My experience with the college has been amazing.

The course has all the practical and theoretical subjects needed for a good placement, package, industry training and well prepared for the corporate life. With one subject of specialization in first semester and in further semesters, all the subjects are related to your specialization. It is a fulltime course requiring a lot of dedication and continuous work on projects and assignments. The course has a compulsory 2 month summer placement internship exposure to give you a basic about corporate life and how it works and how things work practically. The course strengthens your personality development along with your technical skills.

Yes. There is a compulsory internship if 2 months in our course. This is related to your specialization. So far, the college has always placed all the students applying for internship in the college. There are summer placements in Reserve Bank of India, CRISIL, CITI Bank, union bank, hdfc bank, transparent value, national stock exchange, B&K, L&T finance, Bank of Malaysia, Bank of China, PWC, KIFS, HUL, Ventura and many more. Not all of them are paid, but majority of them are paid.

The placements are good and so far the college has a 100% placement record. People applying from outside, apart from college are also able to get a good job because of the rigorous training of the institute.

In every semester, there is one marketing, finance and HR event apart from the guest sessions. There are general management events as well. The main events of Finance are - Mulyankan (1st semester) and Vishleshan (2nd semester). They are case study competition with cash rewards. Mulyankan is an inter college event, however Vishleshan is an intra college event. There are cultural events like Sports day, Aakarshan, Howzatt as well.

Loans are also available. However as of now, the fees is 4,35,000 per year for PGDM. The college provides laptop to the student in this fees. All the visits, guest lectures, Industrial visits are included in the fees. Nothing extra is charged for the same.

I have not availed the loan facility. However, when you go for the GDPI process the college makes sure to make you understand the loan process and has bank people explaining you about the loan facilities, interest rate and payments.

The extracurricular events are Vishleshan, howzatt, sports day etc. There is GYM room, MDP room, library, auditorium, computer lab, digital library, bloomberg lab, conference room, sports area to play, lobby to sit and wait. They have good infrastructure and facilities where students can go and relax.

The hostel facilities are in the form of college flats. There is both AC flat and non AC flat, available in options 1BHK,2BHK and 3BHK. For girls and boys there are separate hostels. The hostels are in good family society with good safety. For the non AC flats the college pays electricity and gas bills.

The college has a separate committee named as ALCOM for taking care of the connect with Alumnus. The committee organizes event for both part time course and full time course Alumni. The PLACECOM also is in touch with Alumni. The alumni even help in placements of the students. They even come to college for gueet sessions, training and mock GDPI process for the students facing final placements.

There are 4 semesters. First semester has around 10 subjects, second has 11 subjects, third semester has 10 subjects and final semester is the project. There is one mid term exam of 20 marks, 20 marks for assignments, presentation and projects, 60 marks final exam written paper.

Firstly, you have to appear for any entrance exam like CAT, GMAT, CMAT, CET. After getting the entrance score, fill the online form available on the college website. The college has a GDPI process for selection. It gives you the benefit to choose the date of the GDPI selection process. Select your date and time. Come prepared for your specialization specific GD and PI. After completion of the GDPI process, the merit list is displayed on the website on a specific date. The college has a zero management quota.

The college has well qualified faculty having masters and doctorate degree. They are very well aware with their subjects. The finance professors are very helpful and are amazing mentors and have everything detail bit on their finger tips.
