IBS Mumbai Admission Dates 2027

Admissions to the IBS Mumbai PGPM for the 2027-29 batch are anchored by IBSAT, the ICFAI Foundation’s own aptitude test, conducted in remote-proctored online mode every December. The registration window for IBSAT 2026 opened on July 1, 2026. Candidates with valid CAT, GMAT, NMAT, or GRE scores may apply directly without appearing for IBSAT.

IBS Mumbai Courses and Fees

IBS Mumbai offers a single postgraduate management programme. The total course fee covers the full two-year academic programme and excludes hostel and mess charges, which are billed separately.

The PGPM curriculum is structured across four semesters. Specialisation tracks available include Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, and International Business. The programme framework is aligned with the IBS network curriculum and uses a case-study-intensive pedagogy. The per-semester fee works out to approximately INR 2.03 Lakhs on average, though the actual payment schedule may differ by instalment plan.

PGPM Eligibility and Selection

The minimum eligibility for the PGPM at IBS Mumbai is a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university, with at least 50% marks in graduation. Work experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates in their final year of graduation may also apply conditionally.

The selection process at IBS Mumbai follows three stages after shortlisting on IBSAT or equivalent test scores:

• Stage 1 — IBSAT or equivalent test score: Candidates with valid IBSAT, CAT, GMAT, NMAT, or GRE scores are eligible to apply to IBS Mumbai.
• Stage 2 — Selection Briefing and Micro Presentation: Shortlisted candidates attend a Selection Briefing at the campus, where they make a Micro Presentation on a given topic. This stage evaluates communication and analytical thinking.
• Stage 3 — Personal Interview: Candidates who clear the Micro Presentation round attend a Personal Interview with IBS faculty. Final selection is based on test scores, academic profile, work experience, and interview performance.

CAT cutoff for IBS Mumbai is not published as a fixed percentile. Candidates with a CAT score of 70 percentile and above are generally considered competitive for the PGPM. The campus does not publish a fixed GMAT or NMAT score threshold.

IBS Mumbai Placements

IBS Mumbai completed placements for the PGPM Class of 2025 with an average package of INR 7.89 LPA and a placement rate of 95%. The highest domestic offer stood at INR 20 LPA. Over 300 companies participated in the placement process. The top 10% of the batch earned an average of INR 11.97 LPA.

The campus location in Powai, adjacent to Mumbai’s financial and corporate corridors, shapes the recruiter profile. Financial Services led placements with 24% of the Class of 2025, followed by Banking at 15% and IT/ITES at 12%. BFSI sectors collectively accounted for about half of all placements, consistent with the campus’s location in India’s financial capital.

Prominent recruiters at IBS Mumbai span BFSI, consulting, and technology. HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and JP Morgan are regular participants from the banking sector. Deloitte, EY, PwC, and KPMG recruit for consulting and advisory roles. TCS, Wipro, HCL Technologies, and Cognizant hire for enterprise technology functions.

IBS Mumbai Rankings

IBS Mumbai is ranked by Collegedunia and the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF). The campus does not hold a standalone NIRF rank — the Ministry of Education’s NIRF covers IBS Hyderabad, the network’s flagship, at Management rank 46 in 2025. IBS Mumbai is evaluated as a separate entity by the ranking bodies listed below.

The IIRF 2024 rank of 55 represents a gain of 19 positions from rank 74 in 2023, making it one of the stronger year-on-year movements in the private B-school category. The Collegedunia and IIRF rankings use different evaluation pools — Collegedunia covers both public and private institutions while IIRF is restricted to private B-schools — so the rank numbers reflect different competitive fields rather than conflicting assessments.

IBS Mumbai Scholarships

IBS Mumbai offers merit scholarships to eligible PGPM candidates, drawn from a network-wide pool of INR 10 Crores distributed as 500 scholarships of INR 2 Lakhs each across all IBS campuses. Each scholarship is disbursed as INR 1 Lakh deducted from each of the first two term fee instalments.

Scholarships are applied directly against programme fees and do not cover hostel or mess charges. Candidates with CAT, GMAT, or NMAT scores who qualify on merit may also be considered for scholarship categories at the time of admission. IBS Mumbai Campus and Infrastructure

IBS Mumbai is located in Hiranandani Knowledge Park, Powai, Mumbai 400076, approximately 6 km from Andheri Railway Station and adjacent to IIT Bombay. The campus occupies 80,000 sq.ft. across two floors within the knowledge park.

The academic infrastructure includes 15 air-conditioned classrooms, a 225-seat auditorium, multiple syndicate rooms for small-group faculty interactions, and dedicated common rooms for male and female students. The library houses over 28,000 books, subscribes to 13 international and 92 national journals and magazines, and provides access to 8 major online databases. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled throughout.

IBS Mumbai does not maintain on-campus hostel facilities. The Powai, Chandivali, and Marol neighbourhoods surrounding the campus offer private accommodation options with access to food, transport, and security infrastructure. A cafeteria, convenience store, gymnasium, and computer labs are available within the campus. The Powai location places the campus within a business and technology park cluster, with proximity to corporate offices that benefits internship and placement outreach.

IBS Mumbai vs Welingkar vs N.L. Dalmia

The three B-schools below serve a similar applicant profile in Mumbai: candidates seeking a two-year full-time PGPM or PGDM at a private business school with placement access to the city’s BFSI and corporate ecosystem, outside the IIM tier. IBS Mumbai has an advantage in total fee cost, with the PGPM at INR 8.11 Lakhs being notably lower than comparable PGDM programmes at Welingkar and N.L. Dalmia. Welingkar and N.L. Dalmia accept the MAH-CET score, which broadens access for Maharashtra-domicile candidates who do not appear for IBSAT. IBS Mumbai’s Powai location in a technology and business park gives it a distinct advantage for BFSI and IT recruiter access, while Welingkar’s Matunga campus benefits from strong alumni density in the manufacturing and retail sectors of central Mumbai.
