The Beauty of VGEC

The EC department of VGEC is very famous and it is said to be strict and disciplined. So i joined this course in this college. Apart from the subjects related to my own course, the first year consists of subjects from all other engineering departments whose basics might come in hand some day. Also, there are subjects like proffesional ethics, english, effective technical communication for overall personal development.

TCS, Thomson Rueter, iGate, TechMahindra are some of the leading software companies visiting the campus regularly. Some other companies, both in public and private sector, like L &T Engineering, Essar picked up students of this college in campus selections in the past. Also the faculties help us if we are having difficulty in finding internship opportunities.

The college provides us with placements and internship opportunities. The average package per year is 3-4 lakhs. Companies like TCS , Hitachi, tech mahindra, IBM , Infosys, ISRO have visited our college and provided placements. Minimum 7 cgpa is required for a student to be eligible for interviews, although it may differ for different countries. I plan to finish my masters after graduation before getting a job.

The yearly fees for female students in my college is 1700 rs only. We have to give an additional 1000 rs for main gtu exams. Scholarships are also provided by government. Basically it is a very affordable college although it is tough to get admission here due to it's high merit requirements.

Overall the campus life is very social and educational. Technical events like hackathon and others are organized every year and we get the opportunity to participate in them in other colleges too. In february students celebrate days like no bag day, traditional day, halloween day, mismatch day. Celebrations for teachers day , vasant panchami, ganesh chaturthi, navratri,etc. Are also done every year. Clubs like photography club , advanature club, book club, robotics club, sports are also there and sports matched are also conducted.

The admission process of our college involves acpc. We have to apply to colleges in the acpc website in ascending order of our main preferences and they tell us which college is available for us in a few days. I also applied for the computer engineering and it courses but my marks were too low so i took admission in ec.

There are different faculties for different departments and they are all very good at their jobs. They help us anytime we need to solve our doubts and are very punctual in conducting lectures. Mid sem exams are conducted after sbout 2.5 months of the start of semester. After that there are submissions and 1 month long reading vacation before main gtu exams. Mid sem exams are of 30 marks and gtu exams are of 70 marks.

The locatity of our college is very safe for students. There are tons of places all around the college that sell good food and many cafes and restaurants. Some of them are Ajay's , Hakuna matata , jay bhavani vadapav , creamoholic cafe, subway, macdonalds, shakemaker,etc. The college canteen serves fix plate of roti sabzi with various sabzis. Also puff and samosas and snacks are sold at reasobale and cheap prices. I don't live in hostel so i don't really know anything about them.
