College and Campus life of VGEC

From the year 2023 the course has put a update in it. It now includes Programming for problem solving in which C languages knowledge is being given from the first year onwards. Also a additional subject has been added which is fundamental of AI which gives knoledge about artifical intelligence. Also workshop is provided so that student has to make some projects related to subject. Industrial visits is provided for senior students to help them connect with company . A program for start up was also planned where a initial amount for start up is being provided

It provides on-campus intership at end of third year. They provide sufficient knowledge to the students so that they can give a off campus intership too. List of companies for computer/IT sector are TCS, Tech Mahindra, L&T, Tatvasoft, Argusoft, Zuru tech, Rapidops, Torrent power limited, Micron, etc. In EC the main companies like Einfochips, academor. For Mechanical : Ceat tyres also comes in the college. For Civil: Adani also comes in the college. The stipend may vary from 5,000rs to 50,000rs. As in intership they give us knowledge with income so it is a win-win situation.

Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC) is a government college of gujarat. The fee structure of this college is very affordable for middle class people. The fees varies from 1750 RS to 4000 RS depending on which semester you are studying. It's fees is to be paid per semester. Also there is term fees and exam fees taken by the university which is GTU.

Campus life at VGEC is amazing. There are clubs like mission english, workshop on model rockets, VGEC rocketry team, hackathons, hunt-a-thon. NCC Cadets are also trained in the college and many social activities by Professor Vaseem Qureshi helps us to learn about literature, art and English language. Infrastructure of the college is very nice, proper maintenance is being provided by guards. Instruments and techinacal facilities provided are not upto the mark but are in woring condition and usable. Sports activities are also carried out.

VGEC is one of the best government engineering college of gujarat. It ranks 2nd in terms of government colleges in gujarat and the first rank is being hold by LD College of Engineering. I also dreamt of doind CE in LD college but as the merit got too high and I did not want to go out of ahmedabad. So I chose this college and I do not regret my decision. Compared to other private colleges it gives best knowledge at affordable price.

Faculty of the college is friendly and helps in every situation. They are highly qualified as some of them have a PHD degree. Each field have their specific faculty which gives us lab knowledge and guides us, how to get good grades in that subject. The First Year course gives us knowledge about mechanical, electrical, C language,etc. The exam papers come from GTU to all government colleges. The marking scheme is like all subjects have a 70 mark paper.

I has not seen the nightlife of the college as I don't live in hotel . I always use to come at home after the college lectures get over. But according to my friend who lives in college hostel, Hostel life of VGEC is best. They can travel around the college. There are many Cafe, Restaurants nearby the college campus. They can also go to the in-built library for studying. Hostel has strict timings and if someone comes late than 8:30 PM a call would be taken to their parents, At Hostel food is provided at mess at nominal charges
