Remarks

This college has provided me with a good knowledge and experience with my best memories during my student life here and it is very good for a student who's searching for a good engineering college. there are some places where it needs to improve which every College will have.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Studying mechanical engineering in ksit is one of the best part of my life. one can enjoy his/her engineering life here to the maximum extent!! We can also get practical experiences by joining teams like go-carting, baja, prodigy etc.

Internships Opportunities

They do offer internship in our college wherein no stipend will be given but we learn a lot of concepts here during our internship and we get hands on experience on few things. They do help in learning some of the design software packages.

Placement Experience

4

The placement are good for other branches, except mechanical which is difficult to get companies to colleges, but for other departments such as computer science, electronic and communication engineering and telecommunication engineering, the placement are quite impressive.

College Events

4.5

There will be a department event every semester called emanay wherein it will be organised by student co ordinators and volunteers. And also there will be interdepartment events where in different branch students will participate and win prizes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure here is same as any other average college, which any average middle class student can afford. I had to pay a fee of 50000 as CET fee and 27000 for college, which would cost me 77000 totally.

Fees and Financial Aid

They do not facilitate with loan but based on our Pu percentage we can apply loan outside of the college. Canara banks seems to be the best bank for the educational loan. They provide us with the maximum benefits.

Campus Life

4

We too had extra curricular activities and I had participated in almost every activity. The labs here are well equipped and that oo mechanical labs are very sophisticated. We are encouraged in even sports and many students have participated in university level from this college.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel here in ksit was average kind these years but from this academic year they have changed it and have built a new one which is very high in quality and also food which is very important for a student is good in hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors from my department are vet friendly, they help in academics so much and also they help in our placements. they helped us in our initial stages of engineering. They made us to participate in many extracurricular activities which made us to bond with them.

Exam Structure

We had to write 3 internal assessment test of 30 marks each for every subject in every semester. Out of which 2 maximum marks were considered and average of that two was taken as internal marks and 5 marks were allotted for assignment and 80 marks external exam was conducted every semester.

Admission

I had to write CET exam conducted by Karnataka examination authority and I got my ranking from the same, based on ranking the seats were allotted wherein we had to list our preferred college and I got seat in this college in the first round

Faculty

4.5

They are very friendly and as I have seen they are the most experienced lecturers a college will have. They help us in difficult situation and also encourage us for the extracurricular activities we do and also for the cultural events we organised by us.

Placement Experience:

Last year due to recession the placements were low comparatively. From semester 7 onwards we are eligible for campus placements. I do not exactly have the correct statistics, but all the students who tried outside got the jobs easily. Highest package 32 lacks and least goes upto 3 lacks per annum. Last yearpercentage of students placed is 66 and before that it was more than 90 My plan is to get a good job, after the degree and if I cannot get a good job then I will go for higher studies abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is not at all relevant, they are still teaching us subjects like c and electronics. For eg - in our 4th semester we have vb.net as our programming language which is very outdated langauge. There were also two language subjects - general English and additional language (hindi,English, kannada) which I think is kind of useless to learn two language in BCA.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements by the start of the 7th semester, and the internships by the 5th semester. Since Mangalore has many MNCs, most of the campus drives start with those companies. We have an average package of 18LPA and it varies according to each branch of engineering. Mostly all the computer science-related branches have 23LPA as their average and the core branches have 14LPA. Almost 95 per cent of the students get placed. The highest package has even crossed 50LPA.
