Remarks

Our college was 15th from the top at that time in the university college ranking and over the years it improved its position to 11th the time i left the college, this was the proof of college academics, administration and management. It was a wonderful experience being a part of that institution for me.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for Comedk, for which i traveled to Bangalore to appear in the qualifying exam, i loved it going there. The weather attracted me the most. It was a moderate exam paper in which i scored 69 out of 100, getting around 13500 rank. A friend of mine was already studying there and he told me that mechanical was best of this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course duration was of four years and 2 semester each year. The course structure was good, in each semester there was two laboratory course and 6 theory paper. At the end of each semester final exam used to be held 100 marks each for the theory paper and 50 marks each for tge labs.

Internships Opportunities

The college didn't provide us a full time internship, but on many occasion trips were organised by the college to various industries all over Bangalore. Also they used to give us a on-demand internship letter to go to a company to do internship all over india.

Placement Experience

3.5

After 2nd year companies started coming for us. The companies- L&t, Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, Reliance, etc. There was a placement of about 85%. Many of the students also got placement after the college period. The highest package recieved by a CS student was around 17lacs, the avg package were in the range of 3-7.5 lacs per anum.

College Events

3

Our institution regularly participated in almost all the university events like sports day, annual meeting, etc. Besides each year annual event of the college called 'Ananya' was also held. Ananya was a massive event which lasts for 2 days celebrating college annual day, many programs were being organised on Ananya like Fashion show, Dance, Short act, mimic, video games, DJ, etc. There were prize also for winners.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was feasible. While many colleges under VTU were charging 1.5-2lacs, my college was charging 1-1.4lac at that time. In my branch fee was 1.15 lacs for comedk students, 25k for CET students and around 1 lac for management students. Fee structure in other branches were 30-40k more than ours.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship was available for students with poor background and meritorious students. Also at the time of admission many offers were provided to the students who had scored good marks in entrance examination.

Campus Life

3.5

There were students from all over india as well as from abroad. There was no discrimination to any of the student based on thier state, religion, gender, or economic status. College administration was very strict against any type of intolerance or any problem faced by a student inside the college campus or the hostle campus. All yhe HODs, the principle and tge Wardens were strict and helpful in nature.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There was around 6-7 hostels to accomadate with bus facility. There were enough hostel rooms for students. There were single bed room, double bed room as well as triple bedrooms. Hostel charge was also feasible with the quality of food good. There were common washrooms on each floor depending on the number of accomodating students.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors were also good with thier juniors. They were helpful in study or any problem faced by a junior in hostel or outside the campus. Thier overall behaviour was good.

Exam Structure

There were around 90 days in classroom, after that 3 internal test, and a final exam. Labs were 2 days per week and the remaining 4 days were theory classes. Once the syllabus end, there was approx 15-20 days leave to prepare for the final exam. The classrom experience was not a pleasant one because of hectic schedule, usually classes runs from 8:30 in the morning to 4 o'clock in the evening giving a tea break of about 20 minutes and a lunch break of about 45 minutes.

Admission

The form came in the month of april-may, after filling the form qualifying exam was there. After result of the qualifying exam i went for counselling with a DD of Rs 50k. After counselling i went to the college with allotment letter and got admission. The admission process was simple. The administration was quite good were helpful.

Faculty

4.5

The institution was being run by a trust and was in sound condition. The professors were highly qualified having M.Tech and phd degree. There were many layers in the tutors like head of departments professor, asst professor, lecturer, lab assistant, helpers etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college (NHCE) is affiliated to VTU but it's autonomous college. I like mechanical engineering and my father is also a mechanical engineer which inspired me to mechanical engineering. It is a bit outdated, expect more applications of the concepts. As I said we have exams every month, the frequency is good and the difficulty of exams I mid to easy range.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There course subjects included in each semester is pretty much related to the branch of the student, each course subject has an important role in making the student ready for jobs. Some of the core subjects are necessary for real world applications and in the interviews as well during palcements ,questions have been asked from various subjects. Sometimes the speed of covering the syllabus is fast which makes us mug up the topics which is not beneficial for us because this method doesn't hold any value when it comes to applying it in real life.
