Course Curriculum Overview

4

We do not have end semester examination and instead we are evaluated with projects, which helps us in real time knowledge. Personally I feel this is a great help to us. We need to apply the concepts we have learnt in class to our project, and this make us learn our concepts practically. Mid exam is conducted for 2 hours Quiz for 10 to 15 Minhtes depending on the teacher and number of questions. Lab evaluations for 1hr depending on the teacher.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are companies coming for the internship, but they selected only limited number of people, And the selection is done in the combination of all the all the campus of Amita, the best students are selected after having rounds of interviews. Accenture-software developer Infosys -SD

Placement Experience

3

Last year due to recession the placements were low comparatively. From semester 7 onwards we are eligible for campus placements. I do not exactly have the correct statistics, but all the students who tried outside got the jobs easily. Highest package 32 lacks and least goes upto 3 lacks per annum. Last yearpercentage of students placed is 66 and before that it was more than 90 My plan is to get a good job, after the degree and if I cannot get a good job then I will go for higher studies abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

325000 is the year wise fees I pay. Caution deposite of 10000, we paid only once while joining the collage. No other fees were charged, but for registration during exam we had to pay 5000. The actual fee for my batch was 425000 but there are scholarship categories and we can avail this scholarship in 4 feeslabs .

Campus Life

4

3 fest are held for sure kalakrithi-1 day, kalanjali- 4 days onam celebrations - 1day and this year we also had Dusshera celebrations for 3 days. We have food stalls and different types of technical and non technical competitions for this fests. Overall the fests are fun,, sometimes we have dj music and we can enjoy. Library has a good stock of books suggested by our faculty. And even if they are not available they provide us with online accessibility if we go and ask in the library. Now we are having smart classrooms, with charging plugs for every bench and ethernet facility, we also have wifi everywhere across the campus and hostel . Sports facilities are good, for intrested students, we also have a sports day conducted and different types of competitions are held across different branches. We have 54 technical and non technical clubs in total, all the clubs are run by the students with a mentor from faculty for every club.

Hostel Facilities

3

In room we are given bunker beds, and 4 people per room, 2 lights and one fan, 2 tables and four chairs, hangers and one cupboard per person, the laundry is taken weekly once and we get back the clothes after 2 to 3 days Meals are not great but they are ok, we can manage. We just need to opt for hostel while entering the collage or we can join in between the collage. it's overall affordable for the facilities they give. The washrooms are common we have in every floor and hot water are given in morning for 2 hours and evening 2 hours. For girls there are no PGs available in 1 km radius. But for boys there are many facilities available

Admission

I have applied for many collages and got addmission into pes and dayanand Sagar University, WEA lso paid the fee in dsi, but heard that this collage is having better faculty and placements, so we preferred this collage over the others. We have an entrance exam for this collage to get decide if we have a got a seat, and what slab of fee we have availed, there is some reservation for banglore students if we are from banglore.we also have a non scholarship category, where we can get the seat directly.

Faculty

4

There are a good number of experiend faculty, and most of them help us when we require some help. We can contact them personally when we have some doubts and most of them are open to doubts. A few faculties hold some students, like if the student is caught for one time, then they catch them for the whole semester. For our course(AI) we do not have end semester examination. We need to write the mid exam - 50 marks converted to 20 marks for final cgpa calculation, 2 quizes for 10 marks each, 2 lab evaluations for 10 marks each and one assignment. And the other 30 marks is calculated from our project.

Night Life

3

We are not allowed to our our campus after 8pm, unless and until we have permission during some fest times. We havea seating area, whee most of the groups hangout and chill, a small sized cafeteria, where most of the things are available, but not too good in taste. Everyone should enter the hostel by 8pm, and the attendence is taken in attendance using face id from 8pm to 9.30pm, we are allowed to go out daily from 3.30 to 6.30pm, and if we are late we will be given punishment, our next day outing will be cancelled. Overall the campus is safe for girls.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements by the start of the 7th semester, and the internships by the 5th semester. Since Mangalore has many MNCs, most of the campus drives start with those companies. We have an average package of 18LPA and it varies according to each branch of engineering. Mostly all the computer science-related branches have 23LPA as their average and the core branches have 14LPA. Almost 95 per cent of the students get placed. The highest package has even crossed 50LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As the computer science was booming and also beeing an aspiring student towards that field I had decided to do CSE. The curriculum is was less practical towards the real world applications. They should have include industry professionals to teach they would have better knowledge and experience. Every one we used to have exam like mid term , FA, and end terms. Difficulty depends upon prepration level done by student.

They are eligible for placements after 4th semester and the placements are average, a lot of companies have visited I can't say them all ex like Infosys, TCS , and a lot of American and Taiwanese companies, the highest place ment in this campus was around 28lpa and average is around 1L and the percentage of students getting placements are below average like every other college cause this mostly depends on you and not the college its all based on your skill set. My plans are to get a job with a good lpa and I'm confident about that because I have a good skillset which would benefit the companies.

If talking about the placement placements are good companies like Wipro or Amazon and many other companies will visit the campus but the ratio of selection is less. So little bit hard work is required or else around 60 to 70%. Students are placed from my college in every year.
