Course Curriculum Overview

3

As the computer science was booming and also beeing an aspiring student towards that field I had decided to do CSE. The curriculum is was less practical towards the real world applications. They should have include industry professionals to teach they would have better knowledge and experience. Every one we used to have exam like mid term , FA, and end terms. Difficulty depends upon prepration level done by student.

Fees and Financial Aid

Karnataka quota general category. 1st year tution fee 67573/- University and registration fee 25000/- 2nd year Tution fee 67573/- University and registration fee 25000/- Merit Scholarship worth 20000/- 3rd year Tution fee 67573/- University and registration fee 25000/- Merit Scholarship worth 20000/- 4th year Tution fee 67573/- University and registration fee 25000/- For management quote it's 1350000 for four years.

Campus Life

4

1.annual fest known as invensia. 2.inter sports competition we had. 3.NCC as well. 4.student run club were CSR club and sports club. We had a hackathon every 3month once. Labs were top notch. Campus was wifi enabled. More than 100000 books and over 8000 journals and research paper were available in liberary

Admission

1.Had applied for PES university but couldn't make it into CSE dept due to the cutoff (offered ECE via pessat). 2.Got colleges in Mysore (JSS) because it's far from my home i decided to leave. 3. And the best bet was presidency University Bangalore because it was near my home. 3. Admission process There are multiple way though which student can apply and come. 3.1 management quote (anyone can apply but the fees in the higher side 13.5 lakh) 3.2 Karnataka government quota (kcet only for the resident of Karnataka and fee is low compared to management quote (3.6lakh) 3.3 COMEDK(all India exam 8.6lakh)

Faculty

3

1.Faculty to students ratio is bad 60:1 2.Teachers are extremely knowledgeable and helpful we were able to approach them. 3. But the HOD and IC were egoistic and arrogant we couldn't approach them. 4.exam is on moderate side. DSA and COA were the hardest subject. Apart from that the exams were on application based completely.

Night Life

2

Cafeteria was big and had wide range of variety. Liberary was big but it used be full in exam times. Our campus get closed at 6pm. Amphitheatre was our hangout zone. There is very few things out side campus so there is no point in going out. And also college is inside the forest i mean literal forest.

Placement Experience:

Last year due to recession the placements were low comparatively. From semester 7 onwards we are eligible for campus placements. I do not exactly have the correct statistics, but all the students who tried outside got the jobs easily. Highest package 32 lacks and least goes upto 3 lacks per annum. Last yearpercentage of students placed is 66 and before that it was more than 90 My plan is to get a good job, after the degree and if I cannot get a good job then I will go for higher studies abroad.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements by the start of the 7th semester, and the internships by the 5th semester. Since Mangalore has many MNCs, most of the campus drives start with those companies. We have an average package of 18LPA and it varies according to each branch of engineering. Mostly all the computer science-related branches have 23LPA as their average and the core branches have 14LPA. Almost 95 per cent of the students get placed. The highest package has even crossed 50LPA.

Placement Experience:

They are eligible for placements after 4th semester and the placements are average, a lot of companies have visited I can't say them all ex like Infosys, TCS , and a lot of American and Taiwanese companies, the highest place ment in this campus was around 28lpa and average is around 1L and the percentage of students getting placements are below average like every other college cause this mostly depends on you and not the college its all based on your skill set. My plans are to get a job with a good lpa and I'm confident about that because I have a good skillset which would benefit the companies.

If talking about the placement placements are good companies like Wipro or Amazon and many other companies will visit the campus but the ratio of selection is less. So little bit hard work is required or else around 60 to 70%. Students are placed from my college in every year.
