Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is pretty organized but unfortunately due to lack in the number of faculties sometimes its pretty hard for the faculties to catch-up the syllabus , There are 3 class tests before the end semester examination.

Internships Opportunities

4

I am currently in th first year students so i cant give any detailed information about the internships but as per the curriculum every student have to do a mandatory internship from the 2nd year which doesn't consist of ny stipend

Placement Experience

4

The campus placement is decent enough and there are many companies visit in the campus placement drive , the students who are appearing their 7th semester end term examination can take part in the placement drive , the major companies who visited the college for the placement drive are NRL(numoligarh refinery limited),ONGC ( oil natural gas corporation), vedanta limited etc the highest package was grabbed by 8 students that is of 24lpa in the year of 2024 and was offerd by nrl and the average package of 2024 was 7lpa which is pretty decent enough as per state engineering college

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees varies every year and there is no fees needed for the even semester, the 1st year admission fees is ?30000. In the second the semester the fees reduces to ?25000 and same as for the 3rd and the 4th year. Many scholarships can be applied after getting the admission such as NSP(national scholarship portal) , ishan uday etch

Campus Life

4

The clubs are pretty active, there are around 30 clubs , there is a Techno-cultural fest (Pyrokinesis) organized by Assam Engineering College every year which is one of the largest techno-cultural fest in the enitre north east.the sports facilities are not that good as AEC doesn't have any indoor stadium ,its under construction but for outdoor sports there are 3 big grounds for sports like cricket, football etc

Hostel Facilities

4

The rooms are not that great but it's okay okay , the students have to share the room till the 2nd year but for the 3rd year students single room is provided but in some hostels even 3rd year students also have to share their rooms, hostel food quality is pretty decent, i am hosteller so i cant give any detailed explanation of rooms or pg but many of the students takes pg or rooms near the college because there's a lot of availability of pg and rooms near the college.

Admission

One who appeared for the JEE mains and JEE advanced and couldn't able to get into the NITs and IITs can add this college in their preference as the college provides lot of exposure and give lot of opportunities, students can get it into Assam Engineering College from both JEE main score or there is an another exam known as CEE (comvined entrance exam) its an state level Engineering collges entrance exam

Faculty

4

There are very few Regular faculties due to which there's always an uncertainty in the course completion which directly affects the students academics , but the faculties who are regular are excellent with high qualifications, there's a CAT(Continuous Assessment Test) is been conducted every month before the end semester examination which really helps the students to evaluate themselves

Night Life

4

AEC consist a well maintained library it self and the timing for the library is from morning 10 am to evening 4pm , College gym of AEC is currently not functional due to lack of facilities, but there are many private gym near the colleges , there are total 9 hostels in the entire college in which 8 boys hostel are there and 1 girl hostel , there's 2 separate hostel for the 1st year students out of the 8 due to the safety issues for the 1st year students, there's no particular timing for the students of 2nd ,3rd and 4th year but for the 1st year students there is an in time which is 7.30 pm

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
