Course Curriculum Overview
The Course Curriculum isn't appealing and doesn't focus on real-world applications at all. The teaching methods are also very outdated with classes being conducted on Google Meet weekly or monthly. There can be few more offline classes.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee that I had to pay for MA (Sociology) was approximately INR 9,000, which included the charges for the study material sent to us for our course. There weren't any other charges except from that, but we do had to pay the exam fee for our annual exams.
Campus Life
Since I pursued a distance course, there weren't any sort of social or cultural interactions that I could be involved in during my course. There aren't any sort of social groups, clubs, or extracurricular activities that could be pursued by the students.
Admission
I chose this college as I wanted to pursue my degree along with my job. I simply filled out the registration form and applied to the course I wanted. There wasn't any such difficulty during the admission and it was a smooth process. I didn't apply to any other college, so it wasn't that problematic for me.
Faculty
The faculty members are good, but the course structure is not that appealing. It's just very theoretical, where we study and appear for term-end exams, and that's all. There is minimum interaction with the faculty. The exams are conducted annually and the exam level is moderate. They can be cleared with minimum level of preparation.
Night Life
It was a distance course, so I didn't have the opportunity to explore any sort of hangout spots, late-night activities, or student life at the college. Anyone from IGNOU doesn't get to experience the same as the courses are offered at a distance mode and classes are held at regional centres at weekend.
