Course Curriculum Overview
The institute is really focused towards academics and placements. Entry in this institute is through JEE Main. I got 98.32% and The admission process is through JOSAA. The academic structure is that we have 2 exams per semester: the mid-sem and the end-sem. The mid-sem comprises of 30 marks, the end-sem comprises of 50 marks, and 20 marks are of internal which makes up 100. Accordingly, we get grades and CG. The curriculum is really great.
Fees and Financial Aid
.Total fee is Rs. 1,35,450 in which tuition fee is Rs. 1,25,000, Exam fee is Rs. 1,000, Registration fee is Rs. 500, Library fee is Rs. 750, Student activity fee is Rs. 1250, Sports fee is Rs. 2,500 Internet fee is Rs. 750, T&P fee is Rs. 400, and Development fee is Rs. 3,000.
Campus Life
My overall campus life is going really good. The crowd of VNIT Nagpur is fantastic. Seniors are really supportive in every aspect possible. we also have student mentors which comes under the student mentorship program. There are various clubs. I am a part of a debating club. Octaves is the music club, velocity is car club, IV labs is all about robotics, & coding, etc. are few notable clubs. there are many events such as Axis Techfest, Aarohi Cultural Fest, Consortium Annual Event Of E-cell, Institute Gathering, Department Gathering, Mech Days, Ganesh Chaturthi, etc. My personal experience has been really great with the institute.
Admission
To get in at VNIT you can get through JEE MAINS. I got 98.32%tile so I am at VNIT in mechanical engineering branch. The admission process is throught JOSAA. I joined the college on 11th August 2024. The induction program started on 16th August and classes started from 22nd August 2024. The overall process is simple u need to apply on josaa through you jee main result once the portal gets open and fill choices accordingly. Then on a particular date they would announce the round results if you get vnit you can get an admission here.
Faculty
The faculty would depend from person to person. According to me, some faculties out here are very good. Some are moderate, and some do not teach even. The method of teaching everyone follows is writing on the blackboard and explain is in detail. The student to teacher ratio is around 20:1. My personal experience with almost all facilities has been average. Some it has been very good. Overall professors are great because they help in every possible aspect.
Night Life
VNIT Nagpur has good hostel facilities. There are double and triple sharing rooms. Almost 600 to 700 students are in the boy’s hostel for first year and almost 250-300 girls in the girl’s hostel. The mess food is average. The total hostel fee is Rs. 65,000 per year. In first year there is an in-time of 9 PM for both boys and girls for second year onwards no in time for boys and 10:30 PM for girls but no one is allowed to go outside campus after 10:30 PM
