Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is pretty comprehensive. The only issue it has is it's very theory based rather than being pratical based. The curriculum is easy to study and understand. Sem exams are held every 6 months on average.

Internships Opportunities

2

The college gives very few internship opportunities, but a mandatory internship should be completed in order to get your degree. No stipend is provided for internships. Students have to find internships on their own.

Placement Experience

4

From semester 5,companies start coming to recruit Till now around 10 companies have come and around 90 students have been placed. The highest package was 5.5 lakhs pa, and the average comes around 3.5 lakhs pa. I am also sitting for placements, and the college helps you prepare for the GD and interviews

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is 40000. Divided into 2 semesters. Fees of Odd sem is 21k and even sem is 19k. In the first sem 10000 needs to be paid as security deposit, which will be repaid at the end of the course. Some students get fee waivers for exceptional performance in academics

Campus Life

5

The college promotes social activities a lot, every week some kind of event is held. The library is also pretty big and they also have a digital library that gives access to wide variety of books. Extracurricular activities are also available and students can join college through sports quota

Admission

To join sacred heart, you need to come here with your 12th marks and higher your marks the easier it is to enter. There is no exam or interview that is done before getting admission. I got in symbiosis and nmims, but chose SH because it was closer to my home.

Faculty

4

Each class has a class teacher, and also subject teachers. The faculty are very approachable in nature. The exams are comparatively easy, with just a small amount of effort you will be able to clear the exams easily. Around 10% of the students fail the exams

Night Life

2

The night life is below average, everything closes around 10 - 10.30 pm. But there a couple of spots where you can hang out till late night. Hostels are located in and around the college with most of them having the curfew at 7 or 7.30

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose BCom because I was interested in the commercial sector but I wish I had chosen a college that provided better placement services. Most of the faculty members strictly read off the textbook and lack experience. Exams were conducted regularly.

I was not allowed to go outside Kerala for my undergraduate so this was the next best option. The college has a very high ranking and is one of the best in the state. The B. Com course offered by them is also one among the best available.

Remarks:

St Teresa's college is one of the prestigious college in Ernakulam City. And also it provides numerous of opportunities for the students to exhibit their talents and also to find their own abilities and skills. That's the main reason for me to choose St Teresa's for my higher studies. In addition to that, in the year of 2019 St Teresa's has gained A++ in NAAC, which makes St Teresa's unique from the other colleges of Ernakulam.

Unwanted and Unnecessary interference of College Management in Government Funds is considered as one of the negative marks of our college. The utilization of PTA fund is not in an effective manner. Unnecessary Political Activities is another problem. Hon. High court of Kerala already banned political activities inside the college. But it can't be controlled deeply.
