Course Curriculum Overview

5

Software Engineering branch in DTU is having a very up-to-date course curriculum, which motivated me to take this course, it follows all the necessary industry standards. We are being trained for theoretical as well as practical aspects. The teaching methods are also very advanced. We have projectors, dashboards and advanced laboratories too. Teachers are also well versed with technologies. we have 1 mid-semester and 1 end-semseter exam and practicals for each subject in every semseter. It looks a bit hectic, but it isn't much troublesome.

Internships Opportunities

4

I got the internship from the campus placement only. The name of the company was GoStops. I have been offered development role. There were a lot of tasks that was involved in my job role, including the management of the tasks in the software and and adding & removing users from database on regular basis, updating databases, and assigning tasks. The stipend was not that high. It was Rs15,000. But, the experience worth more than that.

Placement Experience

4

Placement season is going good. It's a receession time and still the placement season is going well. Almost 60% of students are placed the highest packages offered by Atlassian, which is 82 lpa, and the least went till 4-5 lpa. But on an average, it would be around 12 -13LP which is good considering the receession time. And, the companies that visited the campus were also good including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, PWC, RBS, Ebullient securities, Fast Retailing, McKensey, Iron Group, and many more, which offered really great packages every company has its own eligibility criteria. Cgpa is an important factor, if you maintain a decent cgpa and have some very good achievements in your resume, you will surely be placed in a decent company and role.

Fees and Financial Aid

First year - 2,00,000 Second year - 2,06,000 Third year - 2,19,000 Forth year - 2,36,000 This is the fee structure for every student who is pursuing b.tech from DTU. Students belonging to minority and lower financial background receive some scholarships and reduction in fee 25%, 50% and 75% as per the criteiras. Also, merit based scholaship is available for students. The fees mentioned is for students who took admission for session 2021-2025. Fee increases around 5% every year.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is really amazing in DTU. And I guess everyone will say that. Whether its about the food outlets, nature and greenery, fests or the society or clubs. Each and Everything is so amazing that you will not be missing IITs for these things. We have a lot of food outlets in DTU, With a variety of options in food menu. So many favorite spots to chill out with our friends too. And a lot more things. Also you can explore a number of domains through our societies and clubs. So, college life is at its best here. I loved these 4 years in DTU.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel life here in DTU is quite good. Registering for hostel is also very easy and convenient. We can register for hostel through online registration process, which is available on the website. Anyone can apply the beginning of the semester. And after allotment, we need to pay the fees, and submit the documents. Hostel fee is Rs 72,000 per year (for AC Hostels), and Rs 54,000 per year(for non-AC Hostels) . If you have AC Hostels, facility is very good over here. And if you're availing non-AC hostels, then It can be a little bit problematic in summers. Mess food quality and menu is average.

Admission

I got NIT Silchar, but there were some factors for which I consider to choose DTU over it. DTU is one of the oldest Engineering colleges in Delhi and even in India, and its highly prestigious. Also, the infrastructure and academics is very good at DTU. College and campus life is amazing. Moreover, placements are also very good. Even better than many of the NITs. So, DTU was the best choice.

Faculty

5

The course structure in DTU is up-to-date. And, they keep on updating the syllabus and courses. Also, we have the option to select our own subjects to study from 3rd year. The faculty to student ratio is around 1:15, which is quite good. Most of the faculties are easily approachable, but few are tough to meet. Most of the proffs in our department are very good, including Ruchika Malhotra Mam, Geetanjali Mam, Sanjay Patidar sir, they are very good. Exams are also at standard level, a little bit difficult, but as we are engineering student, its common for us !

Interview Experience

5

No, the admissions were purely based upon our JEE Mains score. The eligibilty criteria to get into the college is the basic qualifying criteria(Atleast 60% marks in 10th and 12th boards) and JEE Mains score(depending upon the category to which you belong. Then we have to apply for JAC Counselling and complete the admission process.

Night Life

4

The nightlife here is quite good. We have some night canteens, so many spots for hang out and also to sit and have discussions. We have a sports complex and OAT. But, there are some restrictions over here for girls. Girls need to get into hostels before 11pm. But, before this, we have jammings at OAT, Fests and music shows, performances, DJs, and roaming around in the lush green campus, partying at cafes inside campus, group discussions, and a lot more. And, this is amazing.

I choosed this course not on the basis of curriculum but on the basis of outcomes. Curriculum is old and not real world based, professors also have limited knowledge. Course Curriculum should be made more advanced and professors should be trained well.
