Student teacher engagement is overall good in other departments as well

Course Curriculum Overview

I being an Environmental science Hons student feel that this curriculum has a very important role in my life shaping my future, making me a better person and teaching most important values of life. The teaching methods are pretty good . We've books in our lab and are provided with e content.

Class Size: 3Course Fees: INR 4150 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is- 4150 ( for environmental science with minor - zoology, chemistry) Exam fees will be taken when exams are to be held and that's according to your subject combination. There are alot of scholarships provided to girls - Swami Vivekananda scholarship, National scholarship, kanyashree, aikyasyree etc.

Campus Life

The accessibility to the library is to everyone. It's a pretty easy process. There are smart classrooms and also we're taught over laptops. Annual sports is held every year in January. We've a Nss unit in college for social welfare purposes

Admission

The admission process for doing graduation in West Bengal is that you've to apply for in it's portals and fill out all the details . Then you can make a preference list of 25 colleges with different colleges. Then you'll alloted a number of colleges which meets their marks criteria and then you can take admission

Faculty

The facilities are definitely approachable especially environmental science department. I believe environmental science has the best faculty not because I'm a student of it but it's because it's actually good. According to NEP, there will be 7 papers and your pass fail depends on your presence and preparation

Night Life

The locality is a residential area so I believe it's okay to roam around at night. There's a hostel named sister Nivedita hostel which is just like other government hostels. The library is open to everyone at all the times.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. i applied to the National University of Singapore where i got admission in the Economics course but had to take back my offer due to personal reasons. moreover i tried for colleges in Delhi University however my score wasnt adequate for the college i wanted for economics so i had to stay back in this college which otherwise was my choice over any other college. the admission process here is rather tedious, you have to get your registration form for this college signed by your school principal with your picture and get that along with all other original documents during the document verification day, eligibility i believe includes the presence of mathematics at any cost. the cutoffs here go pretty high, especially for economics, calculated on a maths+best of 4 basis out of 200....Read More

Perfect campus for economics student

Admission process are very simple. Generally entrance exam was conducted for admission but I took admission just after COVID so I didn't give any entrance exam. But cutt off was very high. At least 70 percent marks in graduation are mandatory to take admission in this university on the merit basis. Application form are generally found on University official website in August.
