MBBS is a noble course it's a course which teaches us how to save lives this is one of the major reason for choosing this course along with it the respect and financial stability it provides. The curriculum is tough so is the art of saving lives.

Internships Opportunities

The internship in MBBS is a compulsory one year rotatory one done in the same hospital of the college the stipend is currently 28000+DA per month. Normally everyone gets a government job after the internship as a RMO or GDMO many people opt for housestaffships in the same hospital

Fees and Financial Aid

During admission into MBBS course at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital under the West Bengal University of Health science, the fee we paid wea Rs.6500, which includes admission fee of Rs.2000 and a semester fee of Rs.4500. Further we have to pay a registration and logbook fee to the University which is currently Rs.4000 for the first year and another semester fee of Rs.4500. The semester fees paid to the college remains more or less constant with 9 semesters in total and the yearly registration fee for the University varies depending on the number of papers we appear in the exams. The hostel admission fee is Rs.20 for the entire course and the monthly hostel fee is Rs.12. Scholarships are available for poor and meritorious students both private and government. The SVMCM scholarship is provided by the West Bengal government to the state quota students and amounts to Rs 60000 per anum.

Campus Life

Freshers, academic fest and the annual fest along with the saraswati pujo are the main events in the college the fest named LOBELIA is one of the very best in East India with several acclaimed artists performing during the 5 day long grandeur

Hostel Facilities

There are 3 hostels one for 1st year one for 2nd and 3rd year and the other for final year and interns. The hostel rooms are big spacious with tiled floors each room contains 4 fans 4 lights 6-7 charging ports and are mostly triple sharing. Meal is on a daily basis you pay if you eat. Menu contains both veg and non veg with prices varying accordingly

Admission

The process of admission in all the medical Colleges of India is by a common entrance test called the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The all india and state rank decides the college you will get and the rank I obtained brought me into RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata

Faculty

The faculty: Student ratio is quiet low with 20 students for each faculty. The faculty is easily approachable with your doubts they try their level best to clear our concepts.There are 3 main internal assesment held every 3 months with a final University Professional Exam along with it numerous class tests vivas and items which needs to be cleared.

Night Life

The garden infront of the Platinum Jubilee Building, the Boys Common Room the Grand Lecture Theater or GLT are some popular hangout spots inside the campus along with it the Upper and the Lower canteens. Outside the campus being situated in heart of a metropolitan like Kolkata there are endless possibilities and locations to hangout

Placement Experience:

If you can pass the exam that is very tough to pass if you're not serious at all, you'll be able enough to get into any nursing home or you can start treating people staring your own clinic. After 4.5 years you get the internship program that is mandatory to do for all where you get a salary of 32000 per month which is highest among all states . If you manage to be in the top 100 students of the batch of 250 you get one year job in the same hospital with a fees of 50000 and just 48 hours duty per week. If you do nursing home you can get around 70-90k per month based on how much you spent time on work .
