Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is very apt but due to addition of some subjects as per the New Education Policy, it is quite hectic for students to cover the 7 subjects in 1st and 2nd years. Sometimes it is very hectic to balance the academics and other things but when there is will , theres way!!

Internships Opportunities

4

There are a lot of societies that help in internship opportunities and there is also principal internship provided from the college to selected students. A student can avail a wide range of internships .

Fees and Financial Aid

For B. A hons Geography in KMC, the basic fees ranges from 13000- 16000 rupees Apart from that theres also field researches in different parts of India which costs around 20 thousand per sem in 3rd year

Campus Life

5

There are lot of events in college from sports , cultural to club and societies events and fests. Atlos is the name of the annual sports event in KMC where the different departments compete with one another. Theres also freshers for new students from the college , the dept and also the clubs that they enroll in. Joining societies and clubs is very helpful as students connect with other people and make friends from different backgrounds. This also helps the students fevelop in other fields apart from just the academics.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel in KMC is a 10/10 but there is limited seat in the hostel. Only a maximum of 2-3 students are admitted from each course and that too based on reservation and need. Meal is 10/10 with non veg almost everyday. The hostel admission procees has been made easy through the online registration which is published in the college website after admission process of the college

Admission

Kirori Mal College is the only premium institute in North Campus that offers Bachelor of Honors course in Geography apart from miranda house which is an all girls college. I was initially admitted to Shahid Bhagat Singh College, but was later upgraded to KMC. Obviously, since theres only one coed college offering this course in North Campus, the competition is very tuff.

Faculty

5

The faculty is very good and for BA hons. Geography, the class strength is divided in 3-4 professors and the students can reach their mentors for any assistance. Professors are very professional at the same time friendly and cooperative. There are 2 exams in a year but other than that, there are also tests and practicals for continuous assessment of students.

Night Life

5

As KMC is close to the Kamla Nagar and also the famous Sudhama Tea is nearby , the campus' night life is very vibrant. Police patrolling has made it even safer for girls to roam at night or go for walks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
