Likes
- The most important aspect of college is that it is located in heart of India and students from all parts come here making a blend of all Indian cultures , I made a lot of friends and spent a lot of memorable time with them .
- The college has very friendly environment and ragging free campus , all the senior are very helpful and even professors are often delighted to talk with students about their skills and professional development.
- The college is one of the 5 central govt funded IIITS of India so it has an affordable fees structure compared to other IIITS and IITS , and an excellent placement activities.
Dislikes
- The college is located in very remote location at least 10 km away from the Jabalpur city , making it difficult to travel .Literally the delivery cost of Zomato was often high than the price of food itself.
- The college also suffer with limited campus infrastructure ,inconsistent internet services and less exposure to extracurricular activities compared to other institutes.
- The weather is extreme in summer days its nearly feel impossible to go to mess from hostel in scorching heat while in winter temperature gets down to 6 degree in morning.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for first year is almost same for all branches , from second year the students explore the core subjects of their respective branches.The curriculum involves regular assesment ,lab works ,seminars and workshops for enhanced learning experiences .Here we have all oppurtuinities to dive in the field of our choice wheter it be technical or core .
Internships Opportunities
The intership oppurtunities star from third year , companies like Accenture , Samsung,Commvault came to hire interns with stipends upto ?50k . The roles were related to technical and it only. Studentws make diffrent kinds of projects to attract the recruiters.
Placement Experience
The coleege placement activities were excellent when we came in 2022 almost 80 to 90 % of students got placed with highest being 110 lpa to avg at 21 lpa . The CSE and ECE branches get more oppurtunities compared to mechanical and smart manufacturing students . The main recruiters were Deloitte, Accenture, Flipkart, Samsung, Amazon, Infosys, Adobe, IBM etc. However after the recession in 2023 the placed activities have degraded to some extent.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure consists of mainly tution fees ,registration fees,examination fees,mess charges, internet and hostel charges . The tutuion fees for my batch of 2022 was ?62500 and it keep increasing every year right now its near ?85000 , per semester the hostel charges are ?11000 for a semester . For sc/st and pwd students there is relaxations in fees according to goverment norms, there is also a merit based scholarship in which if one is in top percentile in his discipline and course then his/her whole tution fees will be made free. My fees for first semester was ?100000(academics+hostel+other fees)+?15000(mess) and it goes to ?100000 for next all semesters.
Campus Life
The social and cultural life of students are driven by sports and technical clubs , the sports clubs organize the tournament and matches for each outdoor and indoor available sports. The technical club makes us involve in competitions to provide the best ideas and hackathons for crazy experiences .Fests like SAANJH and TARANG occur in our college .
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility and its accomodation is excellent compared to its fees . The college has a single central mess for all students , the food is not that much good.The college is located in remote place so we cannot live outside of college .
Admission
This college was best at 56k rank jee mains also it has advantage of low fees over other colleges . I was also getting CSE in lower IIITS and civil in NITS still i choosed this college because of its extensive research and development fundings and a chance of learning new technologies .
Faculty
The faculties are the best and most supportive body of college for students , the faculty to student ratio is about 1:12 to 1:15 in our campus. The professors are very kind and easily approachable .Some faculties came from foreign universities and appointed as professors here . The exam structure that they design has two main exams midsemester and endsemester and two quizes.Every professor is strict if the course is tough one cant get good grades without studying .
Night Life
College has a gym ahving separate time for girls and boys , each hostels has a separate canteen . Libarary and computer centre are best place before exams to study in silence. The hostel gate closes after 11 pm . The stairs and bridge are hangout places where lovebirds can be seen everytime .
