Course Curriculum Overview
I chose B.com Hons because of the placement opportunities our college offers for this course. and the number of companies for commerce related course are significantly higher. SBSC is mainly known for the highest commerce seats it offers after SRCC. B.com hons helps strengthning the managerial and financial concepts of a student which would later be helpful for them while applying for jobs. There is a 3 hour exam and the method of teaching is practical.
Internships Opportunities
There is a internship cell named Encode which provides both paid as well as free internship opportunities to students of all courses. Other than that students can join various college societies which also offer Live project opportunities. The best society is Ardent the tech and analytics society.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of our college is really good. All the big companies come to recruit the best of the best students via offline as well as online mode. the average package is around 500000 per annum and the highest package offered was 22 lakhs. From 5th semester onwards students are eligble to fill the form of placement cell. All the big 4 companies like Deloitte, EY and KPMG came this year for recruitment. Around 50% students get placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
When i took admission to shaheed bhagat singh college, DU, i did not know about fee structure and scholorship of this college. So here is my experience as a third year student. The first year fee was around 13000 and the fee increased in each year by around 2000rs. For reserved category students the fee is significantly lower than the general students. As for scholorship, SBSC provides financial aid to reserved students. I don't know about the fee structure of other category students as i dont belong to that specific category.
Campus Life
Campus life at SBSC is lively with fest like Kalakriti. Library is well stocked and have centralised ACs . Classrooms have projectors and smart boards. Sports facilities include basketball, football, cricket, etc with active student participation. Societies like Ardent, enactus, and finance cell offers great exposure.
Admission
This college was on my 13th preference and according to my marks and preference sheet this college was allotted to me. I can say that my college is better in many aspects from other south campus colleges but while comparing to big colleges like ARSD and SRCC, i would say there infrastructure is way better than ours. The admission process is simple, students need to give CUET examination and according to the course selected and marks obtained, college will be allotted.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is nearly about 30:1 and the faculty is quite understanding and supportive. I can't tell the name of the teachers but few subjects are well taught in this college like business mathematics, statistics, and cost management accounting. There are a few assigments and tests conducting in between a semester and other than that the main semester exams are conducted at the end. Exam level is medium to hard.
Night Life
NIght life around SBSC is decent but not that good as it is a day+evening college with no hostel. The library and campus closes by 8pm and most students head to home after classes. However many stay near the cafeteria and shack to get coffee and snacks. The area is generally safe but best to be cautious at night.
Other Applied Colleges
Shri Ram College of Commerce - [SRCC] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}
I gave CUET examination and my marks did not satisfy the cutoff limit.
