Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is structured and very advanced as compared to University like Delhi University. What they study in 2 years is we have studied in 1 year only. We have exposure to more subjects than them. The syllabus is vast and includes all relevant and real world topics. The improvement can be made to reduce the syllabus. Attendance is also very important to appear in exams. Minimum 75 per cent attendance is compulsory. Mid semester exams take place in October and March usually beginning from the 1st of both the months. They are of 30 marks. Time given is 1.5 hours. End semester exams take place in December and May-June. They are 50 marks while for 2 subjects for 80 marks. Time allotted is 2 hours only. The exams are subjective and moderate to difficult.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are no official internships offered to us by the University. Some contact the CRs while some are sent by teachers . They send us link of internships by NITI aayog or ministeries of the government.

Placement Experience

3

Campus placements are present especially for Language students with companies like Maruti Suzuki, Amazon, etc. It is also entrepreneurship centre by EDI. Entrepreneurship is promoted by the University. There are other internships also that are sent by teachers to us. I will do masters after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is paid semester wise as and when the notice for fees is out. The dates to submit are mentioned in the notice. The fees for Bsc Hons Economics is Rs 13000 per semester and yearly Rs 26000. Sometimes, Rs 200 is taken extra for yearly magazine and student council fees but as per Uttarakhand High Court Order, there were no elections of student council in this term and therefore no extra fees was taken. Only Rs 13000 was deposited. Extra fees was taken only once in 2nd year registration. Otherwise the fees is same. There are late fee fine as well. Fees is deposited online through Qfix link available on the website also. No cash is allowed. For first year students from this time, have to pay on samarth portal link shared by respective Heads. The fees doesn't increase in this university since, it is a state government University. Caution fees is taken during admission and will be returned upon leaving the University. In this 13000, 7000 is the tution fee and 6000 is the other fee which includes equipment/ consumable fee, library fee, computer/ internet fee, examination fee, sports/ games/ cultural activity fee, student aid fee, medical/ ID. For some courses, student fees changes after 1st year or after 3 years. I will share the fees of most famous language courses available in our University. For bachelors, they have Rs 17000 with breakup of Rs 10000 as tution fee and Rs 7000 as other fee. There are courses like design, mba, b tech and msc in urban development that have fees much higher than these. Scholarships are available. Each year two scholarships are given based on income and . They are by the government as well. The University gives merit based scholarship also to students from each year according to their cgpa. This is third type of scholarship. First is based on income only, second is based on income and merit, and third is based on merit only.

Campus Life

3

The infrastructure is really very good. I didn't expect that much. Library is accessible. There are study rooms as well. E library is also available. All the english and hindi newspapers are available in the library. There are many clubs like Vatsalya, Alankaar, Dramebaaz, Natraj, Story Sphere, Arz, Saarthi, Kutaagarshala, Sankalp, Sports, etc. These include literary club, music club, acting club, dance club, literature club, poetry club, the psychology club, happiness club, the economics society, the civil services society and sports includes like Karate, badminton, tennis, cricket for both girls and boys, football, chess, athletics and there are also tournaments and athletic meet ups.

Admission

I applied to only Delhi University via CUET. My parents didn't allow me to go to other city, hence I couldn't. The entrance was impressive of this university which was more difficult than CUET. Like some topics were not in the syllabus of CUET only. The admission process is simple based on entrance. Accordingly, lists are released on the website with marks. The dates are given and you have to do the paperwork and take admission. The entrance is CBT based mcqs and eligibility criteria is given in the prospectus available on the University website. Walk in admissions also take place if seats are left. Sports Quota admission is also available. In Economics, we had 50 seats but 51 students since one student failed last time. Now we are 49 since 2 students left as one has gone to Japan and other has left studies. The language courses have seats ranging from 27 to 30 with English hons having more seats.

Faculty

3

Some are permanent faculty who are absolutely good. They are focussed and teach really well. Some are guest faculty. Some are good in teaching but their character is not good. Some are not good in teaching. PhD students also teach to fill up the gaps of unavailable faculty. The best faculty is Dr Ankit Nagar who teaches very well makingthe concepts clear and does not put burden on students. He is focused towards teaching. I did not like Mr Luv Mohan Sharma who taught well in first semester but in second semester, he failed miserably. He is not good by character towards females which makes me hate him. The course structure is well defined with three compulsory subjects of 4 credits each, then skill enhancement subject of 2 credits that is also compulsory chosen by the department according to the requirement. There is Generic Elective subject of 4 credits that we have to choose not from our department but from other departments who offer it. There are Ability Enhancement Subject of 2 credits in which we choose various Indian and Foreign languages and we Value Added Course of 2 credits in which we choose the subject. There are total subjects of 22 credits per semester. There are mid semester exams of 30 marks each for all the subjects except VAC and AEC. There are end semester exams of 50 marks each for all subjects excepts VAC and AEC have 80 marks exam. There 20 marks internal based on GD, presentation and assignment. 1.5 hours is allotted for mid semester exams and 2 hours are allotted for end semester exams. The course curriculum is difficult and very relevant. Some students fail to clear but there no back exams as we come under NEP.

Night Life

4

Gyms are available in both girls hostel and boys hostel and there are also gyms clos to University campus. There is one cafeteria and one tapri inside the campus of the university and others are outside the University campus. The library is open till 8 p.m. at night and opens at 10:00 a.m. in the morning. The university gets are open by 7:00 a.m. in the morning and close by 9:30. The famous hangout places like University campus is really very beautiful and very waste and it is very close to the nature so we like to stay there. Some are outside the university beautiful place you can go all over the mountains to everywhere like Dehradun is very famous. Safale and PG canteen is very famous. These are two very famous spots for eating outside the University campus. For hangout places you can go to mall of Dehradun that is close to the University. I can name some companies with whom our college does have made tie-ups but since none has been placed as we will be the first one to be placed, it would be inappropriate to answer this question. Still, ISRO to DRDO are the organisations for which our course is Inclined.

I chose this course because I had a science background in 12 th and I am especially interested in Botany and zoology, which are also helpful for preparing for NEET and other competitive exam.the curriculum is useful for basic scientific understanding and future studies, but the college needs better lab facilities and more prectical instrument so students can gain proper hands on experience.the exam pattern is balanced, with some portions being easy and some difficult, while internal exam are generally moderate and depends on the students preparations

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite good and easy to understand. Among all the subjects, I like Chemistry the most, and topics related to transition elements are my strong area. This subject increased my interest in the course and helped me understand concepts more clearly. I chose this course because I want to make my career in the teaching field, and the syllabus provides a decent theoretical base for that. However, this course is not very helpful in terms of jobs, internships, or skill development, as there are limited job opportunities after completion. There is scope for improvement in teaching methods, such as more interactive and practical-based learning. Exams are conducted twice a year on a semester basis, every six months. The exam pattern is manageable, and the difficulty level of the papers is moderate.
