Course Curriculum Overview

1

I was crazy about fashion and needed a budget friendly college. Hence I chose here. Normally fashion colleges are expensive. I think fashion students are more likely to have more exposure in various fields so I like that particular thing. It would be more interesting if the classes are not just classroom oriented. And religion based opinions and choices should be made less and students and teachers should be considered just as an individual. I feel fashion department is more tough cause you need various skills like time management and things because there is a lot of works and assignments that consumes much time. Hence time management should be done right and there are chances where at a appointment you may feel over stressed so you should possess stress management skills too. If you have passion and is ready to work hard to achieve your dream go for fashion. That's all I have to say.

Internships Opportunities

2

Internships are normally of a due of one week in your fourth semester. It's in the case of fashion. internships are very diyfor each department. There are workshops and assignments too. Like we can speak to our faculties if we need any workshops and that's the case of fashion. And assignments and workshops were nice for fashion I personyloved them. Cause that was a great chance for the exposure.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fee is about 1.5 lakh and there's an increase in the fee as per university order. And if you're opting for bsc costume and fashion designing you'll need to spent another one lakh for the materials. There would be exam fees.. the amount varies according to different semester. Scholarship details won't be provided from the college you should check about the scholarships. So you'll have to search by your own and need to contact the college office for further details. Comparitive to other fashion colleges I feel this college better.

Campus Life

1

The events and other programs are comparitively less but there are events thats amazing too. Atinuda and comenzo are two of the major events in this college. They are amazing. Library is so good. Like seriously the maintenance and the availability of books are to be appreciated. Most of the classrooms are smart classrooms which are technically developed and to the technology side I think that part is good. As in about the fashion department there are various equipments related to fashion which really helps for better exposure and experience. Sports and extracurricular activities are less and I think they need to be improved a lot. Clubs and union is there but it's all for the sake of having them.

Hostel Facilities

1

There's fan and lights but no power points ots common. Power points are common and is available in every floor which shuts down at 10:00pm at night. About meal it's comparitively fine and thereyboth non veg and veg available along with the evening tea. You get rice for lunch and night along with various side dishes. And for breakfast there is puttu, idli, dosa, appam, poori, chappathi, uppmaav It's human to human registration And it's comparitively low price I guess.

Admission

I actually opted for different fields and fashion was something which was very far from other courses I opted for nursing, zoology, botony , microbiology, physics , chemistry etc And out of curiosity and due to my passion I just tried by applying here in the merit field. Here I think management field is expensive like donation fee is high I guess not sure though heard of it. However I could enter through merit field. For that you need marks which is based on 10th and 12th grade. I chose this College because of the course as I always like to do crafts and sketches which is correlated with the fashion field.

Faculty

2

There are tutors of various characters. So basically we're limited to our department teachers. So tutors of fashion department are usually professionals. Percentage of failures are actually not low, have seen many passed out students coming for clearing exams. Subjects and exams vary according to the course.

Night Life

1

There is a gym in the college which is absolutely free and that's something good about this College and one of my favourite thing. Library, canteen basket ball court is all fine and is being utilised by students in a good manner. There's a college hostel for ladies only just at the doorstep of the college that's actually good compared to other hostels nearby in the case of food. 9:30am - 3:30pm is the college timing And the curfew of hostel is 6:30pm in the evening. Hostel is strict about the rules and regulations and about the timings. We're safe there. But whenever we fall sick, hostel sucks..like they don't even care. They force us to return home. As I said it is located in the mid of the town in Calicut so almost many famous spots are all nearby. the beaches, malls, sm street and lots and lots of budget friendly food spots. Spots to hangout like the bioparks. Roaming around may lead to bad experience with the local people

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
