Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is relevant and prepared us well for our careers but more practical exposure is needed. More case studies and industry projects can improve the learning. The difficulty level of the exam is moderate and if you study thoroughly then good marks can be obtained.
Internships Opportunities
Some companies came for Internships in our college but hired very few people. So it's better to opt in for internships from outside campus. I did 3-4 internships, comprising of Marketing, Finance, Operations etc. The stipend was minimal but the learning experience was great.
Placement Experience
The placement are great. We get offers from top companies like Big 4s. The students become elegibile in the last year to apply for the companies. Average package during my time was 3.5-4.5 lpa and highest was 21 lpa. It provides almost 100% placements and I pursued MBA after my graduation
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 21000 for my course for a period of 3 years which means 7000 per year. The fees comprise various components, including tuition fees, development fees, and other compulsory charges. Specific details about caution fees, registration fees, admission fees, lab fees, and category-wise fee structures (such as for SC/ST or management quota) are not explicitly mentioned in the available sources. For precise information, it is advisable to consult the official college website or contact the administration directly. Scholarships and Financial Aid: SBSC offers several scholarships to meritorious students, including: Central Students Council 1976-77 Scholarship: Awarded to students obtaining the highest marks in M.Com semesters. Amount: ?3,000
Campus Life
DU fests happen mostly in the month of January and February. We can participate in different events of other colleges too. The books are available nearby the college location, additionally the college even has a stationary shop where basic amenities are available. There are various social groups and societies in our college where students can take part.
Admission
I applied to IP University and DU only. I got confirmed admission in many colleges like Jesus and Mary, Kamala Nehru College and IP University too but I chose Shaheed Bhagat Singh due to its reputation (it's among the top 10 colleges in DU for Commerce) The admission process during my time was merit based (12th board exam results) the cutoff was closed at 95% in 2019.
Faculty
SBSC maintains a faculty-to-student ratio of approximately 1:25, facilitating approachable and supportive faculty-student interactions. The Investment professor is great The curriculum is regularly updated to align with industry standards, ensuring relevance to current academic and professional demands.
Night Life
The library and campus close by 8 pm . There is no hostel in our campus. Famous hangout places can be Hauz Khas and other nearby places. The locality is safe but prefer not to roam around alone at night. You can hangout with your friends
