Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have chosen this university because I don't have so much time to go to regular classes. And I have to prepare for government examination along with my studies. And IGNOU was a good university according to other distance education Universities because it is a govt affiliated university and also world's biggest distance learning education universities.and it is valid for other higher studies like PhD ans MPhil etc and also valid for NET exam etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of masters in political science at IGNOU is around 8200 including hardcopy of study materials. But if you choose soft copy of study materials then the fees will reduce around 7400. It is upon you which you want to choose. The fees structure will very on subjects you choose for masters. IGNOU does not provide any external scholarship scheme because it is a distance education. But IGNOU itself provide various scholarships for weaker section of the society.

Campus Life

2

At IGNOU you don't have any campus life but IGNOU provide many websites and apps for various activities and social groups online. There is also online library where you can download varieties of books and reads according to your course or choice. it's books was very beneficial in various fields and also govt exams. You have also access of library in study centre you choose for any classes or assignment submission. But not everyday. All admitted students have there students portal which they can used on regularly basis for there there need or any other information.

Admission

I have completed my graduation in 2021 and I did not apply for any college or university for masters. After 3 years of gap I again thought to get admission in masters. And in previous year i applied for only this university because I don't want to join any regular university.i applied for masters and within one week I received confirmation mail from IGNOU. You don't have to give any exam for admission in IGNOU for any course other than PhD etc.simply you have to fill application form for addmission in which course you want and you have to pay for admission fees also at this time.

Faculty

3

Indira Gandhi National open University was a distance education so that it doesn't provide any interaction between the students and their faculty members. There is annual and semester wise both examination occurred depending on the course you have admitted. Because I am pursuing in masters in political science so that my examination will held in yearly basis. I have admitted in July that's why my exams will held in next year June before that I have to submited my assignment in study centre which I choose during admission. The exams are not so easy it's moderate type and the Mark's will be given according to your answers.

Night Life

3

There is no night life or hostel facilities available for students because you don't need this . Indira Gandhi National open University was a correspondent (distance) education and it is not a regular university. You have to make only assignment and prepare for final examination at your home. So no need any hostel facilities etc .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In IGNOU, you can study from anywhere because the courses are offered in distance and online mode. You don’t have to attend regular college; you can study at home using the books, PDFs, and online lectures. IGNOU also provides online teachers through live classes, recorded videos, and doubt-clearing sessions on their online platforms. This makes it easy for students to learn even if they are working or living in another city.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course that I opted for is Political Science and it is very relevant to the exam that I am preparing for. I often take help of the online material they provide. It is often recommended curriculum for UPSC/MPSC/political journalism. However they need to provide teachers or short video lectures do that the course become comprehensive.
