I am currently Pursuing B.A Mass Communication(Hons) program Fee Structure: Yearly - Rs.133400 Per Semester - Rs.66700 Which breaks down into : Tuition fees- Rs.5300 Development fee- Rs.8500 Exam Fee- Rs.2400 Library Fee- Rs.1500 Sports and other activity fee- Rs.1300

Campus Life

5

Our college has departmental meets and a few fests Such as Xavrang , Xaviesta , Xavcomm, Xavkala. These fests conduct really engaging inter-intra college events worthy of viewing and participating. Our classes are quipped with centralised Ac with a computer and a projector with white board and a greenboard. Library is also equipped with all the latest books and newspapers which we can read daily.

Admission

I applied to this college without applying to any other college because of the availabilty and the structure. This university has all the required resources needed for me to grow into the career that i want, which is enough of a reason for me to join this university, Mostly this college has a lot of my friends in my course which also helped me, and honesly I didn't want to come out of my bubble, so this college was a safe option for me to join.

Faculty

4

Our College faculty is helpful in engaging into eventful activities for our benefit in exelling the subjects and papers. The faculty to student ratio is quite good per paper as for few papers 2 faculty teach the same subject further dividing the subject into parts. Our course is Divided accordingly for 8 Semsesters, We have mid term exams of 50 marks Naming CIA and end Sem exams of 100 marks with proper practicals for each subject with continuous assignments and there are further marks for our attendance . So it's basically 30+70= 100 30 as in the cia and the 100 marks end sem is reduced to 70, the attendance and other assignment marks are added in the CIA which stands for Continuous Internal Assignment

Night Life

3

Nightlife is not so interesting as the college is located in the outskirts of kolkata but there are a few cafes nearby and a 2 malls which we can visit in our free time, other than that if we really need to have fun or make plans, every other thing is at least 40 minutes away.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
