Course Curriculum Overview

4

According to curriculum which influenced me cming to VIT was the industry alignment which VIT has it doesn't only focus on academic skills but your ethics and vakues too. VIT gives you an elective choice in chossing hostel rooms, roommates and many things on the basis of your GPA . VIT can make their curriculum more good by kicking old subjects out from the curriculum and adding some important and good subject in the curriculum. the timing of exams id also good as per your time table it is decided and changed accordingly.

Internships Opportunities

4

Yamaha has offered a good amount of internship to a 4th year student as a campus placement with almost 20,000 stipend including correct me if i am wrong. you have to make good quality projects for a good resume/CV to gain a good internship in VIT.

Placement Experience

4

From 7th semester you are eligible for campus placements. more than 400 companies visited the campus and almost 10458 people got their dream offer. Highest package was around - 1cr and average package was around - 8 lakhs per annum. Percent between students getting placed in VIT is around 75-90% My plans after degree is to find a good job and gain a experience of around 5 years in civil engineering and then start my own company.

Fees and Financial Aid

In VIT there is the system of yearly fees of everything hostel and academic fees, So i paid approximately 3.5lakhs for the first year of my college in B.Tech Civil Engineering which has 1.76lakh of academic fees which comes under category-1 and Hostel fees of apporximately 1.8lakhs for 1st year . In VIT every year hostel are changed according to your grades in prevoius semester. In 1.76lakh of academic fees 3000 is the caution fees and 1.73lakh of academic fees which include lab fees, development fees and etc. my batchmates almost everyone has the same academic fees it just differ due to different hostel's some have 2-bed room, some have 3-bed room and some have 4-bed room. If you want a scholarship in VIT, if you are state board topper you will get 100% scholarship, if your rank is between 1-50 you will get a scholarship of about 75% ,if your rank is between 51-100 you will get 50% scholarship and if your rank is between 101-1000 you will get 25% scholarship in tution fees .

Campus Life

4

Annual festival is - Riviera and technical festivals like - Hackathon n all take place frequently almost every 2 months. There are more that 2.5 lakhs of books in th library. every classroom has a smart class in which power point presentation are displayed and we study through it. There are a few premiere leaque in VIT firstly know FPL- Fresher Premier Leaque and VITPL - VIT Premier Leaque. There are many successful clubs run by students here like codechef, bulls and bears.

Hostel Facilities

4

In new blocks you have a A.C control remote to control the temperature of A.C but in older blocks there is a simple knob containing 1,2 and 3 in the name of A.c remote it is like a regulator. Meals are sometimes good and sometimes too bad , you can't expect them to make good north food if they arean,t able to make good south food only. Registration process for hostel is done online only once you have paid the academic fees for first year and then for next year you can choose room according to your GPA. If you want to take a PG take near hostel only but my preference would be hostel rather than PG you will have those friends around you with whom you hangout almost daily.

Admission

I choose this college over any other college cause in this college wwe can make very good contacts with some very high-class people after all colleges are meant to make contacts only if you fail to do that you have wasted your 4-years. No i didn't get any rejection from other colleges, cause i applied only for this one after my JEE. For Admission you have to give VITEEE entrance examination on the basis of your rank in VITEEE you can choose a fees category in which category you area lying according to VITEEE.

Faculty

4

Faculty-Student ratio in VIT is almost equal as in one class there are almost 70 students in a class. Some faculties that i personally liked in my first semester as a civil engineering student would be for Calculus- Neelabja Chhatterjee - very generous in teaching and very fair in marks distribution. for physics - Jitendra Kumar Behra and Kishan Chandra . Faculties to not opt are if you are in civil engineering don't pick John Sushil Packiaraj sir for python and Karthikeyan sir for chemistry . There are total of 4 - exams CAT-1,CAT-2,LAB-final,THEORY-final exams CAT-1 is pretty easy and CAT-2 are open books and lab fats are like finals exams of 50 marks which are then converted to 40 marks and theory finals of 100 marks are converted in 40 marks again.

Night Life

3

Gyms are open from morning 6 AM to 9 AM and then 3PM to 8PM , library is open fro morning 6AM to night 12:30 AM and you can go outside before 7PM and you have to come inside before 9PM . Hostel in timings are you have to be in your block before 9:15 PM anyhow for attendance which starts at 9:30PM and campus in timings are before 9PM. Outside the college there are few places in a drive of almost 2 hours from VIT are yelagiri hills which is 100 KM from VIT and karigiri it is most probably 40 mins from VIT. These are some safe spots outside of VIT.
