Remarks

Overall I feel this is a very good place for people with aspirations and a will to succeed. People are smart and will always help you in getting better at something. Parks are present where people can sit and relax. To talk about negatives, only thing would be the lack of good infrastructure.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I believe we are taught subjects(except maybe two or three) that are very helpful and actually help us in our career. Faculty is very knowledgable and convey information smoothly. Overall I believe the course curriculum is great.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are provided at the end of 4th sem and students can opt for the company that they want to work in. Since I am still in 4th sem I haven't been a part of any internships provided by college yet.

Placement Experience

4

Placements for software branches are very good. Companies like Amazon, Intuit, Walmart labs etc hire students based on their skills and expertise. We almost always have 100% placement record for software branches. Not really sure about the hardware branches as I'm in a software branch

College Events

4.5

We have a college fest called "techNIEks" which is held once a year in the month of March. Several guests are invited to talk and inspire the students. Cultural events are a big part of this fest. There is also a fest conducted separately for the Civil branch which is also celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. There is an IEEE student branch in the college that has two fests called Ankura and Adroit in even and odd sem respectively

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure for students that joined through CET is very affordable. It's a little more expensive for those that joined through COMED-K. Scholarships are also provided for people from backward classes making it even more affordable and cheap.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not very aware about the scholarships as I wasn't eligible. But I know that they reduce the fee to very a minimal price that most people can afford. The scholarship committee is very friendly and listen to our needs patiently.

Campus Life

4

The labs are pretty old but are maintained very well. It's in great condition for a college that's over 70 years old. Sports activities are encouraged and every year inter branch sports are conducted. Other than this there are lots of clubs like IEEE, Onyx which is an Entrepreneurship club, Saeniks which is a formula car racing team etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel infrastructure earlier was pretty devastating but now it's been renovated and looks decent. It's still not the best place to live in and the food isn't very great but it's manageable. It has it's own playground where we can play cricket or football or any other sport.

Alumni/Alumna

I got most of my advice from seniors who studied here. We get to meet them often and discuss what's happening and how to go forward with college and other activites. Through IEEE we get to meet knowledgable seniors who guide is in the right direction.

Exam Structure

We have 3 internal examinations after which a main semester end exam is conducted. A student can opt to write any two of the three internals and the best two out of the three is considered. College takes attendance seriously and won't allow students with attendance shortage to write the exams

Admission

I got into the college through KCET( Karnataka common entrance test). I had enough score in CET and in my 12th to get a seat in Information Science branch in this college. I got in in the third round of counselling after which I had to come to college to pay the initial fee and get a good understanding on how things work here.

Faculty

4.5

Professors are very knowledgeable and experienced. They know how to convey information to students in a way that we can actually understand. Doubts are appreciated and cleared right there and then. If it's not possible to clear it on the same day, they come up with solutions the next day.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
