What Students Say

Likes

The campus is really good.Its very green and clean. There are many staffs to take care of the campus itself. There are more than 2 cantees aswell. There are many different verities of tasty food.
Labs and classrooms are pretty decent.The way of teaching is also pretty good
Faculties are good. They are always ready to teach us in need. They provide great support

Dislikes

College is somewhat strict. They aim for disciplined engineers.
We need to be there by 8.45 and can leave after 4.20 . So it is little difficult for some of the students who are coming from more distance
The amount of programs and functions are less compared to other colleges .So if you are looking more on study, you can go there. If you prefer collage life more,then it will be the wrong place

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum seems pretty good. It focus on what industites need . The college faculties had many discussions with industrialists and they are mainly focusing on what industries need. Series exam will come once in a month.There will be 2 Series per semester. Also there will be 1 project to do in each semester

Internships Opportunities

I dont know more about thesw as im a first year student.. But they told us that we can go for internship during semister break.. There will be 1 project in each semister. It will help us to enhance our skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

It costs around 1 lakh per year as tuition fee. For management students there are only few scholarships ....merit students have many scholarships ..If you score 10/10 CGPA,you dont need to pay tuition fee...I think the fees structure is same for all branches of Btech....The fees structure is increasing year by year....we need to spend more than 1.5 lakh for per year including hostel fee,bus fee,record fees and other fees.

Campus Life

The number of festivals are low compared to other colleges. There are a huge verity of books in library. And there are pretty impressive book schemes too.There will be 1 sports day per year.There are IEDC,IEEE,NSS etc

Admission

I have tried to be in christ college aswell.But my entrance rank was low...So i didnt got christ. Sahrdaya is also pretty good and more near to me...So i chose sahrdaya. The admission is based in twelfth mark and entrance rank. It is more difficult to get computer science stream.

Faculty

There are alot of faculties there. There will be special advisors for each 20 students. Faculties are pretty good enough. They conduct many exams and revisions as much as possible. There are 5 or 6 exam for each semester . College as shortened unwanted portions as they are autonomous.

Night Life

There are gym facilities inside the campus.I dont know more about hostel as im not an hostler.There is one park and many restaurants near the college.The canteen meenchetty is pretty good fpr food.Overall campus life is okey okey

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
