Course Curriculum Overview

5

I am from the CSE department. This course attracted me because of the vast applications and opportunities it holds both in the corporate sector and entrepreneurship. This course at IITD makes you ready for te real world. It prepares you such that you can easily land jobs in various companies and earn a good living. The exams include one mid semester exam and ine end semester exam along with continuous evaluation in the form of quizzes and lab assignments. I feel that this course can be improved a little bit by introducing more CSE courses in the 1st year itself.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship opportunities provided are excellent. Many companies like samsung, google, Jane Street provide intership opportunities to students based on their CGPA and technical skills. The stipeneds are also pretty decent and may go up to as high as 15 lakh for 2 months of intern training.

Placement Experience

3

IITD is pretty well known for its placement opportunuties. The average package in the CSED department may be around 35-40 lakh per annum and the highest package may shoot us as high as Rs 4 crore per annum. The companies include Jane Street, Microsoft, amazon, google and other well known tech giants and core companies from Indian and abroad. I plan to settle in a well paying job and later go in the line of entrepreneurship after gettingg my degtree. Almost 80 percent of the students are placed in my college. The students are eligible for the campus placements from the 4th semester onwards.

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fees for the first semester is approximately 1,22,400 INR which includes a refundable caution deposit of Rs 8000 and tution fees of Rs. 1,00,000. Other than that it includes one time payement is Rs. 8150 and an additional charge of Rs. 6250. The amount payable to JoSAA toward institute fees is Rs 92400. For candidates of ST/SC/PwD/ Genaral or OBC with family income <1 lakh category the tution fee is nil. For general/OBC category candidates with family annual income between 1 to 5 lakh the tution fees is 33,333. All other charges like One time payement, other charges and refundable caution deposit are the same for all kinds of candidates. For later semesters, when we ignore the one time charges the fees for a general candidate is approximately 1,14,350. Now talking about the hostel fees, it is the same for all categories of candidates.. The accomodation charges are approximately Rs., 57,000. The mess charges are Rs. 38,580 per semester. The one time charges are include seat allotment cahrge of Rs. 7000 which is non-refundable. Other than that a security deposit of Rs. 15,000 which is refundable. . The mess charges fro new centralized A/C hostel are Rs. 41580. There are also variousd academic/ non-academic scholarships for various candidates belonging to various categories. Some of these include scholarships for te top 5 openers of the institute based on their JEE ADVANCED RANK. Other scholarships include Krishna Engineering scholarship, Jain scholarship,Vivekananda scholarship, scholarships based on income such as for candidates belonging to the financial bracket of family annual income less than 5 lakh per annum. There are also scholarships for female candidates like Jawahar Gajree Memorial Girl's scholarship wherein a total of 8 scholarships are awarded every year to two girls students of each year(from 1st to 4th year) of the undergraduate programmes on the basis of MCM whose parental income is upto 5 lakh per annum.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is pretty vibrant and awesome with a fest taking place almost every semester which helps relieve from the academic burden. The most rrenowned fests include Rendezvous, the cultural fest, and the techfest TRYST. The Library contains all sorts of books ranging from pure academia to novels, literature and social sciences. The classrooare well- equipped with projectors and other technologies for the ease of students. The campus also has a wide range of sport's facilites with big playgrounds where anyone can do anything. The general championship takes place annually and includes all sorts of sports like cricket, football, hockey, weightlifting, swimming, etc. There are many student groups that are the heart of campus like the BSW(board of social welfare), BSP( board of student publications) etc.

Hostel Facilities

2

The rooms are provided on double or triple sharing basis. The rooms are sometimes suffocating and the washrooms not always clean. The mess quality is decent and the food is also very good. Each candidate has the option to accept the hostel facility or to drop it.

Admission

I applied to IIIT hyderabad and I got accepted on the basis of my JEE MAINS rank( which was AIR 286) . I mainly chode IITD over other college because it was my childhood dream to get into this college and it is very near to my home.I got in throgh the JEE ADVANCED EXAM.

Faculty

4

the faculty is insanely helpful and good at IITD. There are various professors and teaching assistants who are always there to help students with their doubts. The ratio is typically 1 faculty for 40 students which makes the faculty pretty approachable. My favourite professor was professor Ashish Chiplunkar of the computer science department because of the way he made learning super fun and always ready to solve the student's problems.

Night Life

4

The nightlife is extremely good, with many chillout spots in the campus being open upto 4 AM in the morning. Same goes for the library and when the exams are around the corner, there is no closing time. The locality is very much safe to roam around at any time of the day or night.

Other Applied Colleges

International Institute of Information Technology - [IIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Because IIT Delhi is comparatively nearer to my home.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
