CBIT, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Remarks

CBIT should try to improve on the attendance issue. Because of it, students cannot excersise their skills and make the best use of their time. Mandatory 75% leads to missing critical conferences, workshops conducted in other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum was changed in 2019, including recent innovative and must know technologies for the upcoming generation like AI, ML, Data Science. Other branches like ece, mechanical have been revised the same.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, it provides internship opportunities through the companies that come to offer placements. The stipend depends on the company and varies from 15000-30000 per month. The experience is good as during the internship, you are not put under any pressure.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are fine with the best companies like Oracle, Microsoft, Google, ITC, JP Morgan, Accolite, Deloitte, Value Labs, offering jobs to the skilled students based on a fair selection process.

College Events

3

CBIT is known for it's fest - Carpediem, one of the finest fests of South India. The artists last time included Armaan Malik, Nucleya, Sapan Verma etc. There is another cultural fest Shruthi. The tech fests include Sudhee, mechanica where students from many other colleges participate as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is expensive. There is remuneration for the reserved category students but the general category students have to pay 2.5 lakhs per annum. There is another miscellaneous fee of 9000 and each semester has a different exam fee of 1700. So definitely, it's expensive for others.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship for students based on the projects or any national level competitions they participate in. Recently, for smart India hackathon 2018, the college offered a scholarship of 4000 per student. However, there aren't any loans granted to students.

Campus Life

4

The sports facilities are just great. All indoor and outdoor games are covered followed by sports fests where students from all over the state participate. Labs are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and you can access the facilities anytime.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel is maintained nicely by the college. However, it lacks amenities like good wifi, food quality checking, water supply etc. The hostels are close from the college so there isn't any transport problem. I would rate it 3.5/5.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is great and easily contactable. They also hold home-coming every year for the alumni. Also, the seniors are always ready to help based on their experiences and what options one has in the future in their respective fields.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is divided as follows - 2 mid-exams where each subject is of 20 marks, followed by a semester of 75 marks. 5 marks are given based on assignments. However, there are talks regarding revision of the structure forthe future batches.

Admission

There are two ways to get admission - either through EAMCET or JEE MAINS. While EAMCET rank range is quite small, if you have a decent rank around 20,000, you might even get into CSE (Based on my friend's rank)

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is experienced but lack communication skills. They can teach but cannot impart the required knowledge. There is a need for them to learn the consistently changing technologies and be well-equipped to teach the students as well.

Placement Experience:

So coming to placements they will provide good no. of placements if we have skills and keen of intrest to learn new things and grab oppurtunities. Also our colleg has NACC and NBA accredation there will be more companies approaching our college and taking students for placements and trainging. TP CELL will give its 100% in placements pushes students forward for various trainings and placements. Basically placement starts froms 3-2 mostly form 4-1 where students go to attend interviews and attend exams. companies like Infosys, Wypro, My schools, Infotech, and many MNC's. every year almost 150-200 students will be selected for placements. average package will be 3.0 - 4.5LPA and the highest package is 7.5LPA . their package is decided by companies according to the role they applied and thier level of skill. 45- 50% of the students will be selected for the placements. My plans after getting the degree: If i got selected in placement its well and good i will proceed further with the placement i got incase if didnt get placed i will try of the jobs and then shortly start a business.

Placement Experience:

During 3-1 , we get only one internship i.e JPMC offering 75,000 per month which is of 3-month internship. Thhis year it took around 16 students. through coding round, hire vue interview and the hackathon process. I was selected to hackathon but sadly due to communication skills lack, I was not selected as intern , although I passed coding round, hire vue interview and entered hackathon. From 4-1 onwards we get placement oppurtunities like Deloitte, Chubb, oracle, DE Shaw, etc companies visit and offer good package only.
