Remarks
IAAN management is very helpful. They will provide guidance and help you in every small way possible. They are very cooperating and if you ever feel like you need help then you can go to the MD and be rest assured that he will listen and will help you in the best way possible.
Course Curriculum Overview
First of all, IAAN is affiliated to Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University for Journalism and Mass Communication. So although you study in IAAN you give exams for Makhanlal and get a degree from Makhanlal University. Then you must be wondering why would you go for IAAN. So, IAAN gives you what many mass communication universities do not provide and which is very important if you want to excel in this field. IAAN provides you with practical classes. Here in IAAN you will be asked to anchor and will be taken to different embassy's to give you an insight of reporting. The exams are quite easy and if you study 2 hours every day and are aware of happenings in the surrounding then you will be able to excel in each exam.
Placement Experience
Placement is provided to students on the basis of the requirement of the industry. If there's a vacancy in any sector of journalism or mass communication then you need not worry because IAAN is the first place where recruiters ask for freshers.
College Events
IAAN treats you like a family. So every festival is celebrated here with great enthusiasm. Every year Holi party is organized and after that, there are different celebrations that take place throughout the year. Mata ki chowki, Diwali celebrations and in between DJ party along with very good food is organized.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for IAAN is 45000 per semester and 90000 a year. It's a 3-year course. So I took a plan where I paid my fees without any installments. IAAN has its own fee installments criteria. Also, people who think they couldn't afford this much fees than rest assured because IAAN gives you a scholarship and lessen your burden.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't opt for any scholarship. But many in our college got scholarship on the basis of their academic performances, on their attendance in the college and also if their parents earning is less than 1,50,000 per annum.
Campus Life
Campus life is exhilarating and you will get every facility that a college of mass communication should have. You will have your own studio where you will be taught the art of anchoring. You will have a library where you can go to clear your doubts. Also, the college has its own YouTube channel IAAN TV where you will be able to do reporting, editing, anchoring, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
If you are entering the world of journalism and starting afresh then don't worry because you will be meeting your seniors in every sector. From photography, video editing, advertisers, pr to anchors. Since IAAN has a large network it makes easier for the students to get internships or jobs at good brands.
Admission
IAAN School of Mass Communication conducts its own entrance exam. The entrance exam is in three phases. First, your general knowledge and your writing skills will be tested. Then you will be given a chance to anchor with the help of a telly prompter (don't worry it's done only to check your voice modulation). The third round is having a direct interview from Managing Director of IAAN. He might ask you about what is happening around the globe and may also ask you to give your opinion on the current scenario.
Faculty
There are faculties who have experience in the media field of 10-12 years. They don't only teach you to mug up. But also teach you things other than the book and syllabus. So entering IAAN is like entering the professional world since day 1. There are faculties who teach at Jamia University and other such big universities professors come to teach you. For photography, they have professional photographers who come and teaches you basics about photography. For anchoring, you will be getting professional help throughout your college years. You will be able to go to different debate shows and will learn from that too.
