Remarks

Everything here is well maintained, be it college administration or faculty, they support the student if he/she are right and have valid points.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is entirely practical, and have 2 semesters in a year. Exams to take place semester wise. I would like to suggest both courses Bachelors and Masters for the students aspiring to become a successful media person ahead, these courses will definitely help you.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are amazing and also each and every student gets an equal opportunity in showcasing their real talents.

College Events

5

Fresher's party is the introductory inaugural where the students formally interact for the first time. It's celebrated at the very beginning of the session to commemorate group work among the students. We as IAANians get to celebrate each and every festival with cultural events, go on trips and explore the real journalism world.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Rs. 25,000/- is the registration and admission fee(to be paid only once at the time of enrollment). And Rs.45,000/- is the semester wise fees. Apart from these Rs.750/- is the university exam fees per semester. And rest no other hidden or extra charges will be there, all expenses are included in the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I don't know much about this because it wasn't required in my admission and my parents are capable enough.

Campus Life

4

Everything is equally balanced here. No case of eve-teasing or ragging reported since I've joined here and according to seniors it was the same earlier as well. The campus is very well structured and maintained with a peaceful environment to study practical subject Journalism.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are extremely well mannered and helpful. They care like their own siblings and guide any individual if they find he/she is capable enough to survive in the Journalism and Media Industry and identifying the potential in juniors is the best thing they can do.

Admission

I was Passionate towards Journalism and Media industry since I was in 9th standard and to pursue it as a career, I opted for Journalism and IAAN was recommended most by my friends and few elder and alumni of IAAN as well. This made me choose IAAN as my college.

Faculty

5

Most importantly what a student wants is that the teacher or faculty should understand his/her working style and reward accordingly. Here in IAAN, every single faculty is well versed in their aura of working and they're extremely helpful as well. Faculty is highly skilled and learned one from Journalism field, be it anchor, channel head, author everyone is renowned in their respective fields.

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Placement Experience:

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.
