Course Curriculum Overview

I like mechanical engineering . In our college besides theory classes their are practical classes also.The curriculum has been recently updated in 2023 and for my branch I personally think so that it is relevant to a certain extent only, maybe 50%.

Class Size: 189Course Fees: INR 56200 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise i paying 56,200 Tution fee is(yearly) 116,600 but your family income is below 1 lakh you have to pay 1/3 (just like me) if family income between 1 to 5 lakh then you have to pay 2/3 and if more than 5 lakh you have pay all fee just like other nits. You can get scholarship according to your family income.

Campus Life

The annual festivals include recstacy,recrace, aarohan the second largest tech fest in eastern India. The library is very big and it has a huge collection of books available for issuance as well to the students. The sports culture is very good and we have yoga and taekwondo as our extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilites are excellent. We get a bed,a tbale , a chair and a lamp too along with library. The charges are also reasonable. The mess is worse than ever. The registration process was too lengthy.

Hostel Fee: INR 17000 per year

Admission

I applied to all national institutes of technology across india and i finally got. Aseat in this college by jossaa councelling process. i also gave wbjee examination in which i was getting civil engineerih at jadavpur university. I chose mechanical engineerjng at NIT Durgapur

Faculty

Faculty to students ratio isvery good.l like each of every faculty.i love their teaching style.most of them are very experienced.some of faculties are rude also.their is mid sem and end sem in every semester.

Night Life

There is a common gym accessible to everyone in the college. The cafes are also there and are affordable too. The intime for the hostel is 8p.m for boys and girls of first year and no in time for second year. The entire college is safe

I guess around thirdsemester placements get started. Many tech companies like TCS, Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys and Cognizant visit us. Highest package from my department got seven or eight lac and lowest around one lac. Eighty percent student get placed and many opt for higher studies. My plan is to get a job right after completing my degree.

In 2024 75% of the students fot campus placement rest choose to opt for further studies and offcampus placements. Major recruiting bodies include Microsoft Google texas instruments reliance, apple and many more. Like in 2023 Microsoft recruited 38 students from our college with a package of 55 lacs. 26 students got offers from JPMC for about 18lacs.

My college is among the top ten nits in India. It's well designed curriculum make me choose it . Also presence of a good placement and scenarios is also a plus point . A sneak peek into the reality of engineering colleges

My goal to be honest was IIT but i couldn't get into it because of my own self. Had i prepared a little well i would definitely have landed myself in a better college. But being realistic what you earn and what you learn depends more on yourself instead of any institute or curriculum. There are a lot of good engineering colleges in india to get into. The admission process is long and hassling. It takes months to get a seat in a college and after clearing jee with a good percentile.
