Remarks

It's like a mixed bag, but you can deal with all the problems and this college will make you able to face the world ahead. It will make you ready not to give up and face anything that comes. It's quite a big campus of 168 acres while you may forget the paths in first week or so but then you'll get acquainted with everything.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is overview simple and convenient with enough time for other activities too. It follows UGC guidelines and is quite similar to IIT Delhi. First year is like an introduction to every branch of engineering and it goes course specific in 2nd year.

Placement Experience

4.5

The only place where DTU shines is the placement. Even in branches like Mechanical and Civil, the placement is really good as compared to other colleges and universities. The faculty gives full support in placement and the department of training and placement tries to give placement to each and every individual. The packages are really good in computer and IT branches, but the average packege is also really good as compared to NSUT and NIT Delhi.

College Events

4.5

There are so many events organised like Cultural 3 day fest Engifest(biggest in North India) in Feb Sports fest Aahvaan 3-4 Tech fests Unique in itself literature, music and film festival Yuvaan All these fests are organised mostly in even semester (2,4,6, etc) Otherwise there are events like art festival, TED events, standup comedy, society fests, events organised by student council etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's quite good by far as compared to other universities. It's paid on yearly basis which sums up to around 6.45 lakhs(for my 4 year course). It's same for every course and it increases every year by some amount. You can also take student loans and college itself provides scholarships on merit basis as well as financial condition basis.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers 50% as well as 100% scholarships on the basis of financial condition of the student and if you're a topper of your branch you get merit scholarship too. Otherwise the college offers merit cum means scholarship from Delhi government and interest free loans are provided by SBI. There are also many scholarships running under Delhi government for higher education too.

Campus Life

4.5

There is sports complex with cricket ground, football ground, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court, kabaddi arena, gym, state of the art indoor area for indoor sports like chess, table tennis, etc. We have college team in throwball, cricket, football, volleyball, chess, badminton etc Sports infrastructure is really good with college administration and student council continuously showing keen interest in any kind of reform.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

First year hostels are not so good as compared to the senior hostels. There are 2-3 hostels for 1st years and 6 for seniors. But it's not easy to get into a hostel because they have a priority criteria, so if you're a Delhiite, then chances for you are quite low to get into a hostel. Also you shouldn't have any backlogs for getting hostel in senior years. The food is okay okay in senior mess and quite the same in first year hostels as well. Senior hostel infrastructure is quite good with beautiful red buildings having a court in centre for playing volleyball, badminton etc

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni include Pentium chip founder Vinod Dham, paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, bestselling writer Durjoy Dutta and so many of them. DTU has a network of 40000+ alumni and there is an alumni department too. Senior students are always handy while facing any problem like the student association and the branch senior be it getting previous year exam papers or any problem with any faculty member or so, they are all always helpful.

Admission

We gave the JEE Mains exam and then the result was announced, then we filled the online admission form on JAC Delhi website. We filled the course preference. Then, after a few days the cut off list of rankings were announced in 4 rounds, I got my branch in first round so I went to the college and in a hassle free half an hour process, my admission was done. Then I paid the registration fee of 75000, the rest was paid afterwards. With subsequent announcement of cut off lists, my branch was upgraded. If you want to get admission the branch you're allotted and don't need any upgradation you can visit the college and freeze your branch.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is quite experienced and senior, but you have to go yourself to the teacher for your benefits. Teachers just stick to the course syllabus in class, for detailed study, research and further information and knowledge you have to put efforts and reach out to the faculty. Faculty is not so strict, it's quite good while talking and giving grades. They don't put much pressure on 75% attendance rule except a few of them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
