Likes

Small but beautiful college, crowd is really good, teachers are approchable, friendly environment, diverse student backgrounds
Specially abled friendly infrastructure is there and constructing more sych facilities

Dislikes

Still needs to increase strengths in various courses like BVoc,
Student elections happen, but it affects the peacefull college environment
Benches in classes should be changed especially in the old blocks

Course Curriculum Overview

Course lacks the practical skills thatvare needed for real world experiences, more use of softwares in economics, research work softwares etc should also be included in arts subject. IAS classes are given to students at certain times by tieing up with some local institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

Odd sems have fees 28k While even sems have 32k Extra 10-15k in 3 years for examination fees Low attendance fees varies ebey year. People can opt for hostels, female students have intime of 6-7 pm max. While for boys is 10 pm. College have decent infra, specially abled friendly, proper fire systems, verh famous for sports athletes, culturally talented youth and experienced trainers of Geeeda, bangra,himachali etc can be found, NSE certified vourse on stock market, small ground, good crowd, teachers are well educated in there respective fields.

Campus Life

Sports athletes are really encouraged in the college, attendance is given, coaches are there, profs understand the need of sports. Famous indian bowler arshdeep singh is also from sd college. Sister of yami gautam is an alumini also.

Admission

I applied to multiple colleges like Landran, CU, DAV, etc and git admission offer also. I choose SD college bcz it's near to my house and the environment of the college is really good. Other colleges were far away from main Chandigarh sectors. Admission is done on the basis of 12th marks

Faculty

Every sem there are two exams, mid sems and final sems, normally mid sems are of 40 marks and end sems 60-80 depending on subjects Faculties are nice and educated but obviously the regular upgradation of course material should be there

Night Life

College is open Till 6pm only Canteen and cafeterias are nice. Coffe house is most popular place there. Areas to sit and chill. Boys in hostel have intime of 10pm while girls have 6pm. Regular daily attendance is taken in girls hostel. Mess facilities are there in each hostel

The Best Life of PGGC-11

Placement Experience:

Obviously the placements are offered in the final year but due to the NEP 2020. Various interships are provided to the students of even first year ones. Companies like Airtel, Amazon India, BYJU's, HCL, IBM, Infosys, Wipro, etc have offered placements to the students in their companies. The average package students can expect is around 2-3 lakhs per annum and the highest package would be around 10-15 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placements varies from 5-7% only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of i know the ggdsd college of chandigarh is considered the best college in chandigarh, and their psychology program is really good and that's why i choose it. The curriculum prepares us in many ways, they organize different types of activities and they even tell us about interships and how to grab them. I don't think that the curriculum needs any type of improvement, it is quite good. I don't have any problem with the frequency and the timing of the exams and their difficulty is also on medium-hard level.

GGDSD COLLEGE FROM STUDENTS PERSEPECTIVE

Elgibility was easy as people for any background rather say commerce , arts , non medical or medical . College doesnt have any entrance exam for admission.Students are admitted through centralized admission under DHE chandigarh. Punjab university offers admission to those students those have good grades in class 12th. Eligibiltity of my course was just on my 12th class's board percentage. You can find the application form, application fees and application dates on the official website of GGDSD COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH There are reservered seats for specific castes although i am from general category so i did not get any type of reservation. The exams are held every 5 to 6 months after the semester end. And they are held from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2 pm to 5pm.
