- It has a lush green campus, Overall a very good campus Life.Fests here are great.
- Fest include Bitotsav which is the largest fest in north east india
- Everything is available inside campus including medical facilities bank sports complex with multiple sport facilities and gym
Dislikes
- The gender Ration here is very disappointing. But i guess from this year they have included female quota which means the ration has got better but still it is very low
- No. Of males are much more than females and there is biasness towards male
- Placement cell has been not working good since 2020.this years nvidea came and selected only females.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is Mathematics and Computing. I am a student who is interested in computer science since i didnt get cse here so i opted for M&C because in the long run if I am gonna be a software engineer Mathematics is an essential part of Software engineering
Internships Opportunities
Internship are provided at 3rd year and in past few years companies are not coming for Internship in our college but if you apply off campus there is lot of scope as bit mesra still stands for its name
Placement Experience
Placements here are very decent with avg cse Placements of 20lac and for mathematics and Computing avg placement is 12lac which is very decent . But skme companies here put a gender cap which means that only females can apply to those and there are some big companies which do this Like Nvidea
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure 1st Sem- approx 1.5lac +Mess Fess(35k) 2nd sem- approx 90k+Mess fess(21k) And so on...with each semester passing by the semester fees increases. And mess fess is calculated on the basis of hostel Mess total expense÷Total number of students in hostel. Tuition fess is around-60k Rest all fess include around 90k-1lac They say that they will give gp birla scholarship on the basis of sgpa(semester grades) but for the general candidtates even if you get 9.6gpa you will not get any scholarship this is the hidden truth. They provide scholarship only to obc,sc/st students.
Campus Life
Campus life is very nice you will get all kind of facilities including health sports gym shops for daily needs dispensary doctors available all day around...and so on A very green lush green campus with good climate as there is subarnrekha river on 3 sides of campus you xan even ho to the river view point
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are overall okish...mess of some hostels are too good but for some hostels mess are too bad..washrooms are cleaned twice..but the rooms are a bit small for 2 students as all the rooms are double shared and you have to adjust
Admission
The other Colleges i Applied to was Nits and other Gftis...but the campus life which Bit Mesra has offered is just too good compared to wha others would have offered.and overall the placements here are decent.
Faculty
Faculty here are well educated and they support you in overall progress.(Except few teachers they are too rough towards student and wont even bother to teach you they are here in college just for money) Here are few teachers who even are even world top 2% scientist list.
Night Life
Nighlife in campus is dead as all the shops. Close before 9pm ..yes there are night canteens in few hostels which can be accessed by all the hostel people...For boys the hostel closing time is 10pm but it doesnt matter ..but for girls it is 90m and is very strict they cannot be outside after 9pm
