Is an integrated MSc in mathematics and computing in BIT Mesra a good option?

Maths and Computing is considered one of the best branches after CS in IITs today. The BIT tag is also quite popular among engineering aspirants so many enthusiasts of Math and CS go for this branch to avail the opportunities this field offers. From what I have heard, the syllabus is at par with industry needs and the faculty pool is very passionate and approachable. Mathematics is an indispensable part of Computer Science whether it’s research in data science or development. you need to be proficient in math. This course is designed to bridge the gap between the two which it purposely does, opening gates of innumerable opportunities. To make the most of this branch, start concentrating on Core Mathematics and programming/DS/competitive programming right from the first year. Start working on a project by the end of the first year and go for an internship in the software domain. By the end of the 4th year, you will be proficient in most CS skills making it possible for you to sit for maximum placements. So, taking IMSC in Mathematics and Computing at BIT Mesra will be a good decision if you stop comparing your branch with others. The only drawback is that it is not a technical degree but that does not matter in the long run.

What are the placements of integrated M.Sc in math and computing at BIT Mesra?

The branch was started in 2011 and still has a long way to go. The placement scenario however seems promising since the first batch itself received the highest offer of INR 10 LPA. Most of the seniors I know who belonged to this branch were dependent on off-campus placements and got placed in SAP Labs. The reason on-campus placements for Integrated MSc in Math and Computing at BIT Mesra are not very promising is that students for this program aren't selected via JEE Mains. Big companies like Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Walmart Labs, etc don't find these students credible enough to work in their companies. However, recently MnC has become the fastest-growing branch on campus right now with students receiving plentiful internship offers from foreign universities, IIT, and IIM. Ultimately I would like to comment that go for this branch only if you are genuinely interested in it and not as an escape route to one-year JEE preparation. Don’t go for it just because of placements you will end up being disappointed.

the fee is the same for all, I don't know about sc/st and obc . but for Gen and ews it is the same . total of 10 semesters here is the term-wise fee breakdown:- 177500,87500,96000,96000,105500,105500,116000,116000,127500,127500 note:- it includes academics, hostel transportation and electricity charges mess charges are additional, ranging from 20-30k a semester and adjusted accordingly every semester. the scholarship is available if you get the best grades in your class in which your total fees are waived off - GP Birla scholarship

I admit the course which I took it is has a good future and all I need to do one thing I need to focus in it because it is one of the difficult subject.

The fees structure of this college about every branch approximately 2.5 lac and the fees of masters branches like mnc and physics it is 265000 rs . And caution fees is 10000rs which is refundable, admission fee is 20000rs , development fee is 4000rs ,there is no reservation for sc and st on library fees. My batchmates and mine fees are same. There are many scholarships available in our college like who stands first in the specific branch they get a scholarship which is call Gp birla scholarship and also we have jharkhand e kalyan scholarship also scholarships for meritorious students, and scholarship fir meritorious students like there are many scholarships available in our college. And also we have a very popular scholarship which is NSP .Which is fully government scholarship. The students who applying for this they get a scholarship in 2 fases which is very helpfull the amount of the scholarship is 2 lac

Year wise fees structure of our course is 2400000 with including hostel and mess fees ..But there is no fee deduction for reservations ..In order to get scholarship they need to be top rankers in there branch with there respective sgpa

Fee structure 1st Sem- approx 1.5lac +Mess Fess(35k) 2nd sem- approx 90k+Mess fess(21k) And so on...with each semester passing by the semester fees increases. And mess fess is calculated on the basis of hostel Mess total expense÷Total number of students in hostel. Tuition fess is around-60k Rest all fess include around 90k-1lac They say that they will give gp birla scholarship on the basis of sgpa(semester grades) but for the general candidtates even if you get 9.6gpa you will not get any scholarship this is the hidden truth. They provide scholarship only to obc,sc/st students.

Years wise fee is total 1 lakh 90 thousand and first semester it is 1 lakh 2 thousand 5 hundred and second semester it is 87 thousand 5 hundred .You can get multiple scolarships but it will be hard because you have to score above 9 cgpa and there is also home state quota in this.

Yearly tution fee for Imsc mathematics and computing is approx 1.5 lakhs. Total course fee is 950000. They provide scholarship like GP BIRLA scholarship, e kalyan , NSP etc. Fee is increasing yearly. College provide laptop for all the students.

Tuition fee per sem - 950000- 100000 Mess fees - 20-25k Hostel fees 20k So for 10 sem it will be *10 And there was many scholarships also which was baded on marks and cgpas and also reservations so accordingly 25%,50%and 100% scholarships were available
