Course Curriculum Overview

5

Intialliy when I got adimmision in my department I was afraid that will I able to study with full intererst and focus or not, but when I started studying I found that the thing goes very easy as it was compeletly based on real world application so I enjoyed and maintaind a good CPI througout my course. The area of improvment I would say that modern aspect of some subject are untouched to this could be improved. In each semester we get enough time to prepare for our next exam so it is neither a issue.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship opportunity are good for circuital branches approx 10-11 companies visit every year for internships and for core branches is not that much good still few students get internship on campus and in IITs and PSUs student also managed to get Internship by theirselves.

Placement Experience

5

NIT Raipur do provide placement and it is very good as comapred to its NIRF ranking. Many company come to our campus every year like phonepe, microsoft, EY, Deloitte, Nvidia, Cisco, JP morgan, deutsche bank, Paypal, JSW, Caterpillar, hyundai, suzuki, reliance, AM/NS, HPCL, Macon, BPCL, cisco, accenture, FIITJEE, Unacedemy etc. and every year this companies give 750+ offers. Highest packege generally goes to 50 LPA and avarage is 8-10 LPA and the offered role are- GET, BA/DA, SDE/SWE, lecturer. Students are eligible for intership from 3rd year and Full time employment for 4th year. 75%+ students get placed every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly was around 1.34 lakhs per academic year however this was for year 2021 admitees. The fees increase slightly on every 2-3 years but increase is very less if we yearly basis. Here is the brakedown of fee structure- Tution fees - 62,500 INR Institute Develoment fees - 2570 Library fees - 965 Computer and internet fees - 645 Student activity fees - 1480 Career development fee- 645 Examination fees - 1285 Student safety Insurance fees - 540 Medical fees - 160 MIS fees - 320 However, we need to pay only tution fee and examination fee on each semester and rest of the component have to paid in each odd semester after 3rd semeseter and it decreases once we go to 5th semester. There is fee remission for SC/ST students and student belong general/OBC category with having family income less than 1 lakh per annum and if family income is in 1 - 5 lakhs then 2/3rd of the fee remission is granted by institute. Scholarship can be availed by student like NSP, state goverment scholarships, Dr K.K. sugandhi scholarship(INR 1100 for 10 months; criteria -2nd year student, highest CPI, family income less than 2.5 lakhs), sh. manghandas & smt. sundari devi hablani memorial scholarship(INR 15600 for 1st years, INR 9600 for 2nd,3rd,4th years; criteria - family income less than 1 lakhs),sharman foundation scholarship(INR 15000 to 20000; criteria - finantially disadvantage), Dr kathuriya & smt. pramila devi kathuriya memorial scholarship(INR 25000; criteria - 2nd year mechanical engg. with family income less than 5lakhs per annum) etc.

Campus Life

4

Overall experience is mediocre for club, commttiee and fests because of some internal politics but one can enjoy with friends because its all about peoples you are surrounded with. For fests there are many like aavartan(tech fest) (January), Garba night (Oct- Nov), E-summit (Oct- Nov), I-summit, SAMAR-sports fest (Jan - Feb), Eclectika- cultural fest (Feb), Codeutsava (sept- nov). Library is small but almost all books are availble that we need for undergrad studies and GATE. smart board, projectors, advanced labs are there. overall it is good but one has to compromise in everything a little bit.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facility is provided to limited students and selection criteria is completely merit basis (reservation is there) and CPI is considered for this, one can expect to get hostel at CPI more than 8.5 for boys hostel. Mess food of hostel is overall ok ok as sometime they cook good and sometime bad and menu is in students hand because students mess committee maintain this. Fees for hostel in around 55000 for a year which is affordable and some amount is returned after year end as refund of caution money and mess dues. PGs are availble in range of 2 km from institute with affordable prize in locality of Kota, DDU, amanaka etc.

Admission

I have chosen This collage beacause of its tag (tag of NIT) and its placement and with my JEE score I was able to get this collage and after getting into this collage I didn't regrated on my decision. If I compare to other collage so I would say there are many thing in which our collage lack but the major this which is academic and placement is better to collage of similar ranking and rating. The admission process to get into NIT Raupur is by JOSAA and for that one must need to clear JEE with a good score. At least one must score 90 percentile to get into NIT raipur and at least 97 %ile for CSE/IT.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is 1:70 and it depends on faculty that how they closly interact to student in my department professor are good and they are read to clear doubt and help us on academics. The examination held at mid and end of each semester and marking scheme is relative grading so generally it is very rare that you will not able clear the exam unless you decided to fail. The course curriculum is very well designed according to GATE and placement perspective and changes are made frequently in syllabus to be update with modern need and innovations.

Night Life

5

For hangout location NIT Raipur has good spot as it is in middle of city. There are many hangout places NIT choupati is the major one. GYM, Cafeterias, library, hotels, chai stalls, gardens, mall are very close to the institute. Hostel timing are 10.00pm at night(for boys hostel don't about girl's hostel). Locality is safe but beside NIT some bad environment otherwise its very good.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

This course I think has a very bright future as the cheap making industry is everywhere and in futue AI will require physical component which will be full filled by this department so this will be fulfeeling the real word application however the course maybe more practical. The exams are on every month so it's very rigorous. The difficulty level is moderate.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
