Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is really nice with the university being one of the few universities in India that completely follows the new education policy. It has value added course , ability enhancement course and skill enhancement course. We have multiple minor subjects option to enhance academic qualifications. College has almost established industry 4.O that help in real world applications.

Internships Opportunities

4

I am in the 1st year , so I don't have any internship experiences yet. But the internships opportunities are nice with nice stipend offer. Some of the Students even pay their fees through the payment of these internships. Several projects like one of the main project is VIKRANT , it is an automated bike project made bt the students of different different departments .

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible to sit in campus placements after or during 3rd yr in btech. Intership guidance is also provided in 2nd yr onwards . Highest package of 2023 is 33 lpa with avg. Package of 5lpa. For branch like mechanical more than 90% students are placed. My plan is to take management minor in 2nd yr. And after graduation I will either go for MBA or first get placed and continue MBA while having a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

So, I am a student of B.tech CSE in OP Jindal university, the information I provided mostly will be for cse. For which the fees is 160000/yr. We have scholarship according to the percentage obtained in class 12th . For example I scored 69% which is in 65-70% category. Hence, I have 15000 scholarship. Likewise my friend who scored 92% in 12th has 75000 rupees scholarship. There is scholarship for every student who scored above 60% in 12th board. There is a minimal fee of rupees 2000 for cultural activities for students of each semester. There are different schemes for underprivileged students whose annual income is less than 200000 and is a domicile of odisha and Chhattisgarh like the yashasvi scheme. There is another scheme from vedanta for students of odisha for this students need to give an exam and interview. They don't require to pay the tution fees or the hostel fees once qualified for the scheme. But for every scholarship their are different conditions like for yashasvi a student must clear all the exam without any backlogs and If someone fails to do so they need to compensate and their scholarship will be cancelled. And for scholarship from college one needs to have mandatory 75% attendance. Development fees-10000 Examination fees-5000 Enrollment fees- 10000 Professional development fees-7500 Blazer fee payable- 3500 Alumini association fee-1500 Tution fees-55000 Total payable fees 1st sem(2024-25)-92000 Excluding hostel fees. This is for the batch 2024-25 and fees is different for every batch

Campus Life

5

Techno rolix ia a tech fest in OPJU that takes place around feb-March. It's a 3 day fest with multiple competitions. Most books required are accessible in library and for the books that are not physically available in the library, there is also a digital library- named Kohaa to get digital books and other materials. Classrooms are nice with smartboards etch. Excellent opportunities are provided for sports, the circket team , badminton team etc. are made with multiple selection. Excluding that there are events like spardhaa in 2024 dedicated for sports. There are multiple clubs for example decode club for cse , adventure club, yoga club etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel fees for one sem for the batch 2024 is 48000. It is a triple sharing , Non-ac room. The fees is different for different batches . Fees also depends on occupancy. For double and single ahring rooms prices are higher . And for AC prices vary. It's difficult to find a PG near the campus and the travelling time is also too much. The menu is decided by the mess committee that consists of students only. Uf problem with the quality of food provided , we can complain and necessary actions are taken as soon as possible.

Admission

CG-PET exam cutoff is accepted in the college. I applied for other colleges through CUET exam and jee exam. I was not able to clear jee and after that this was the best option . A college with affordable fees and decent avg. Package. The lifetime placement advice and guidance and help that is provided in OPJU even after graduation is better than most engineering colleges that don't really care after you graduate.

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio in school of engineering is somewhere about 15:1. Faculty to student relationship is nice. Most faculties are approachable and helping. Allowed to call faculties for doubts and other queries without a second thought. Among faculties I liked Umashankar Pandey sir from the computer science department the most for the way he teaches while constantly guiding and reminding about placement and industry needs, making every effort to make students industry ready. There are two main exams- mid semester and end semester exam. With multiple quizzes class tests and other small tests in between. For main exam students need to pass mid and end sem exams separately with 40% marks to clear the examination. Only few students fail to clear the exam because of multiple assessments in between that helps students. Exams are of moderate to difficult level.

Night Life

5

After classes students mostly go to open gym , OT , indoor gym, or badminton court. Some play cricket or basketball. The library is nice and quite. Multiple sections in the library ( reading , reference books, digital library, physical books etc.) makes it better to study and work on projects. Cafeteria closes off around 8 P.M. Campus in time for girls is 6 P.M. and hostel in time is 10 P.M. It's safe roam around in the campus without any risks. Mostly students hangout around the open gym at night and it's quite lively.

Placement Experience:

We can do internships after 1st year and 2nd but for the placement it's in 4th year. The training and placement cell of the college has work consistently to bring reputated companies like a TCS Wipro Infosys LNT Infotech etc. the medium package for uses students is like 4 lakh per annum and PG students was about 4 to 5 lakh per annum. However when compared with some of the top tile institutions the package levels and placement percentage highlight the student themselves me to bridge through internship of campus drive and additional certifications. Another noticeable trend is that placements 10 to be more favourable for the branches like computer science and information technology where are School branches of an face lower absorption rates which is common in many engineering colleges. But here off campus placement are really good

Placement scenario is so good as per the stats . Like students are eligible for placements from there 7th sem . No. Of companies visited is around 200 (guess). Offers made 600(guess) . Highest package is 65 lpa , and average package is 9 lpa there are major two roles one is core engineering get role and other is non core data analyst role . 86 % students are placed last year . My plan is to get good placements from college itself and then after experience I will go for MBA or higher studies .

Course curriculum is very outdated and here the facilities more practical and they believe that if you want you can do other field like non-technical fields and something like government exam. There course or syllabus is not industrial ready.

Placement Experience:

Internship for the third and final year students, but not paid mostly. Placements are very few, don't expect placement from any government college in Chhattisgarh. Work on your skill. Companies like Adani came for placement for Mtech mining students. Highest package is of 3.5 lpa, He works in Bangalore. Other students do master. I am working in my skills and I will try for off campus placement or I will go abroad for master or job.
