Course Curriculum Overview

3

For the computer science students college have not enough resources. Labs are not good, infrastructure is still under development. For other core branch like mining, electrical and civil this college is good. But for CS this college is good. If you want only college will low fees then this will be good choice of you have low marks in CGPET. Exams delay too much and syllabus complete in 1.5-2 months of class. Labs are need to be improve.

Internships Opportunities

3

Radio broadcast durdarshan offered intership for final year students of 15k per month with certificate. You will get internship. Many third year students do paid internship for free. In their they get experience.

Placement Experience

2

Internship for the third and final year students, but not paid mostly. Placements are very few, don't expect placement from any government college in Chhattisgarh. Work on your skill. Companies like Adani came for placement for Mtech mining students. Highest package is of 3.5 lpa, He works in Bangalore. Other students do master. I am working in my skills and I will try for off campus placement or I will go abroad for master or job.

Fees and Financial Aid

In first time taking admission into this college your fees will be 22900rs and after that from second year your fees will be 20500rs. This fees is the yearly fees which includes all the fees like tution, admission, lab fees etc exclude hostel fees. Hostel fees is around 3000rs per month for mess and 9000rs for room per year. If you are Sc, St then you will get 36000rs as scholarhip and for OBC 26000rs. You have to pay for allotment into CSVTU of 2000rs in first year only.

Campus Life

2

In first year their is induction program for freshers. In engineer's day their is annual function happen. Other events festival celebrated like Ganesh chaturthi, Dhandiya compitition etc. Their is a big library where you will get all the books for your college studies for free. In college teaching still done in old ways, their is no smart white board is available. Sports happen in district level like cricket, football, kabadi, Kho-kho. For students their is a CSVTU WhatsApp group in which you can ask your question and can get resources.

Admission

In first counseling I got Shankaracharya College of engineering Raipur in Computer science engineering. But I didn't take admission and applied for second counseling in which I got Vishwavidyalaya Engineering College Ambikapur. Marks was not enough for getting CSE branch in the GEC Bilaspur and Raipur. In these college you will get admission through CGPET, JEE, Lateral admission. Cutoffs are very low.

Faculty

4

Syllabus pattern run in the college is of CSVTU. Faculty is good and they help, also they are well qualified. But faculty to student ratio is not balanced. Their are few teachers for higher year students. Very few faculty for mining students. Faculty needs to be increase. Their 2 class test happen in the every semester, only CT marks is uploaded. CT is of 20 marks and semester is of 100 marks, passing marks 35. More then half of the students fail in the exam. Course curriculum is not totally industrial based. They focus on manly on college studies.

Night Life

3

No cafeteria, campus is not developed. Only Academic building is made in which all the studies happen. Roads are worst broken. Few capacity hostel and mess is available. You will get PG around 2-3 km of the college. For hangout you can go to the city which is 3-4km from the college. Area is safe for both girls and boys but ensure safety.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

Yeah ,the course in terms of comprehensiveness is really satisfactory. I have some issues with sequence of subjects which are covered ,but there is no compromise with the comprehensiveness. So I would rate good that too .

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
