Remarks

My college stands as one of the best college in tricity. It is amazing in all spheres be it knowledge, be it extracurricular activities, be it anything. The safety they provide to girls is just commendable. I assure you, you will be a much improved version of yourself when you graduate from this college. They amplify your personality in every way possible. You truly become an all rounder here.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is very detailed and it provides ample of theoretical as well as practical knowledge. The course is divided into six semesters. Each semester new books are to be bought. Starting from the first semester, the course gets one step higher in terms of difficulty level from the previous semester. Every year four set of exams are conducted which include Mid -Semester examination which are responsible for internal assessment and then the final examination. The final semester examination is conducted in the months of May and December whereas the Mid-Semester examination is conducted in the months of March and October.

Placement Experience

4

Every year multiple companies come over to our college with their requirements. They will contact the placement cell in the college. Then the placement cell circulates a notice in all the required departments. The interested students sit in the counseling session. The interview process goes on. For example , this year Amazon came to our college for recruiting students as Customer Service Associates. They conducted interviews based on our communication skills mainly. First round included a one minute speech. The students who cleared first round got selected in the second round which included the computer skills. There were multiple questions asked on the computer. Basically they were testing our speed on computer and our english grammatical and communication skills too. Based on the test, students were further selected in third round which was the vocal round. We had to speak over the phone and repeat the sentences or respond according to their command. Then we got selected. And I got a package of Rs.2,03,045 per annum.

College Events

4

Sports day, annual prize distribution function, fresher's party, farewell are the key events that are celebrated without a miss every year. Apart from these, there are events like the earth day, the world health awareness day which are also celebrated. Blood donation camps are also conducted twice in a year. Every year, a rally is conducted for the safety whkle driving.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible as compared to the fee that the private colleges demand. Our fees is approximately Rs.10-15000 per semester which includes all the examination fees, tuition fees etc. Every six months we have to ssubmit our college dues which include the library dues, the absent dues, etc. Every possible facility is provided inside our college campus only so that girls don't need to go outside for anything. There's a tailor, beauty parlour, shoe mender, Juice stall, book shop, general store, Golgappa and chat stall, chole channe stall, Nescafe hut, a full fledged canteen which has so many delicacies. Our labs are fully equipped with instruments that are used for practical purposes. The classrooms are well lit too. The benches and blackboards are in good condition too. So seeing all these facilities, Rs. 10-15000 per semester is a very nominal fee according to me.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship but I know for a fact that our college provides multiple scholarships to people who are less privileged financially or our physically disabled in anyway. There is a full fledged process for the scholarship programme. The underprivileged students are requested to write an application stating their financial conditions and physical problems whichever is applicable. Then they are requested to also mention their marks attained in previous year examinations and their attendance of the present year. On these basis a list is formed and the selected students get their part of discount or fee concessions. There are some competitions also which are conducted every year, on the basis of which scholarships are provided to students. Students are supposed to give a written examination according to their subject and the shortlisted ones get the scholarship based on their marks.

Campus Life

5

Our college has a fare share of extracurricular activities. From music to sports everything is available. There are special classes for blind people too. The music classes include all types of playing instruments , vocals etc. There are dance classes also which feature trained classicals. For sports , there is a basket ball ground, a football ground, etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students are truly helpful in every way possible. They go beyond their limits to help you out. They will assist you almost everywhere. There is no chance of ragging at all. Everyone is super sweet.

Admission

An exam named PUCET (Panjab University Common Entrance Test) was conducted. The students who cleared the exam cut off were eligible to apply for admissions in any college affiliated to Panjab University. Then the students were to fill the admission forms of whichever college they wanted to take admission in. Then a merit list was made depending upon the marks achieved by the candidate jn class 10, class 12 and PUCET. Every college had it's own cut off percentage, and so the students securing the required criteria were admitted to the college.

Faculty

5

The college faculty is outstandingly remarkable. The teachers are so cooperative that they will do every possible thing to make you understand each point explained in class. Regular tests are also conducted by teachers. And they guide you not only in studies but in life too. They share their experiences in such an inspiring way.

Placement Experience:

Students from 4rth year are eligible for placement. Pgi provide job for it's own students. Bond system is here. Students can apply for foreign jobs as pgi provide their degree and a sheet with completed number of hours as in clinical we need 100% attendance. Students who don't want to work in pgi can go to different hospitals as pgi is a recognized university they will get job easily. 80% students get job in pgi. As many new blocks are building here for future, they will require large amount of nursing officers so they will give job to their own university students. Some senior got their job with a high amount as salary with health benefits, hostel allowanc, travel allowance, and tax is included. Working hour are less here, people can switch there shifts with there workmates as per there convince. My plan is to work here as a nursing officer and do my master degree from pgi itself.
