Course Curriculum Overview

3

As the name of the course suggests that it is an integration of B.B.A. and LL.B., this integrates aspects of both how business occurs and the laws behind it. As having interest in both the aspects, I decided to choose this course. Subjects like Human Resource, IPC, Drafting of legal documents, Computer and speaking skills integration, definately helps us shaping our personality The teaching techniques out college undertakes is very robust and implements real world examples and also latest technologies, sometimes reminding me that lets take a back and study from our books.

Internships Opportunities

5

As law students we were offered internship oppurtunities at different courts all around India and also at many firms. I recieved internship assistance to crack an internship at office of senior advocate of supreme Court namely, Pradeep rai (non-paid internship) . They helped me with conducting mock interviews and also helpes me with structuring my CV. FIrms like Fox and Mandal, Khaitan, Ghostline legal conducted drive at our college for hiring interns. I myself got offer from fox and mandal and was paid 4000 for 30 days of internship. The firms handed me with tasks of drafting legal documents like mutual divorce petition, writ petitions, bail petitions, Sale deed, Gift deed which I already learnt beforehand from the curriculam of my college in drafting classes.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees my college charges upfront for each semester is 5OK rupees, making it yearly 1 lakh rupees. B.B.A-LL.B. is a 5 years course, Along with semester fees, my college charges 1400 rupees for each end semester exam as registration fees. My college offers waiver for full college fees if the student is facing financial issues given the student has performed amazingly at exams and other co-curricular activities. The college helps immensely in applying for government aided Scholarship programs like SVMCM etc.

Campus Life

4

Our collegs offers various festivals throught the year. It startes with FRESHERS during the month of september, ROBOWARS in November and TECHNICIA in the Month of December. Annual Sports of the college takes place during the month of February with sports rangiing from indoors like billards, table tennis to ourdoors like hockey, basket ball, Badminton, Cricket and my favourite football. There are many clubs in our college who particiapate actively in our college fests and also in other colleges. these clubs include Drama Club, Dancing club, debate Club, Robot club, singing club, Filmaking club.

Admission

i chose UEMK over other of it;'s competitors like Techno India, St, Xaviers and Amity, as back then my college was the only one offering the integrated course for both BBA and LLB. Other colleges only offered traditional Integrated course of BA-LLB and BSC-LLB in which I take less interest, I got selected in each of the collges I applied to. The eligibilty to get selected in this college for law is to sit for CLAT examination and have a mimimum of 70% percentile in 12th Board Examination. The most important is the GDPI round where most of the students dont make it. You must have the knowledge of basic law and the subjects you haed in class 12.

Faculty

5

The Department of law has total of 15 faculties and total strength of each year ranges from 30 students to 70 students. i haven't faced any faculties in our department who are not approachable. Mrs. Srabana Chattopadhyay Ma'am is one of the best teacher of our department, She being my mentor during the course of 5 years has helped me not only in terms of academics but also helped me in developing my character and personality, I personally dont dislike any of the faculties as i have never faced any kind of harrasment from their part or any kind of biasness. My only business their is to study and as i act properly in the class, no faculty has ever gone behind me. We take 3 exams per semester, out of them 2 are 30 marks class test which are rather easy or very easy, helping us assessing our progress. Our end semester examination are 100 marks written examination. This examination is sometimes set at moderate level and occasionaly we have found that level of the examination is very hard. Though never a single time our paper had any questions from out of the syllabus.

Interview Experience

4

GD took around 20 minutes to complete and there were more than 30 participants. the topics discussed were the constitution of india, Taxtation regime and general knowledge of current affairs. i pernally prepared nothing beforehand for the group discussion as I already had good grasp of english and was confident enough that i will perform well in the group discussions and personal interview.

Night Life

2

There is no gym infrastructure at our college sadly, and we do not even have time to work out as the academic pressure is very tremendous. I don't live in hostel so I have no idea about what is the life like and its timings. The most famous hangout places near my college is Biswa Bangla Gate, Axis Mall, Central Mall, Down Town Mall, RDB, RoseDale Mall and all of them are so huge that it may take 4-6 hours to finish hangouting there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen B.A.LLB(Hons.) because I want to have knowledge of law because laws form the basis of society. Moreover, I had an Arts Background therefore, it was a good combination for me to explore and go according to my desired path of career. The count of faculty members of IILS is an approximation of 20-30 teachers and the students each semester is near about 70-100. The teachers are truly well versed in their respective subjects and they're immensely knowledgeable and friendly, they try hard to make us understand in the easiest manner. But the only problem is that the faculties are not permanent, it keeps on changing. The term examinations were always on time except for the lockdown time but this was also managed smoothly within time. In order to know the difficulties I would share a fact and i.e., when I took admission in my Institute there was a total number of 140 students in my semester but no sooner than the first exam held half of them failed and now we're 70 of us.
