Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this college because of it's placement and as it is ranked 1 in madhya pradesh as Government engineering College and also the criteria to get admission in our college is high. And is intended increasing day by day as the competition increases. The faculty is thoughtful and they design the curriculum in such a way that it only helps and beneficial for us. They include subjects which are trending in tech world and teach us. We have labs in which they demonstrate us the actual application of the subjects we learn throughout the semester. The difficulty level of examination in our college is nice and the marking scheme is also very authentic.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies in our college usually comes in fifth semester for internship and the stipend is around 1 lac or more. The companies which comes to our college are Goldman Sachs, mastercard, Deutsche Bank and they also offer ppo. Students gets to do this internship by the end of their 6th semester and before the starting of their seventh semester. Projects plays a major role while securing a internship as that time you do not have any experience so they judge you on the basis of your projects. You should have atleast two projects one based on DSA and other on development.

Placement Experience

4

In our college, companies offer internship in the 5th semester of our college and for placement students are eligible when they are in the seventh semester of there college. Companies which comes in our college for internship and placement are Goldman Sachs, mastercard, Deutsche Bank, TCS, oracle, Deloitte. The highest placement of the last year was 48 lpa which was off campus. And on campus was 33 lpa most of the students get PPO once they've secured an internship on campus. From CS and the IT branch almost all the students gets placed with an average of 6-9 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree is to do a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

For one semester, our college charges for information technology branch is 63400. So in a year we have two semesters which adds upto 126800. While my friends from other branches pays little less than us as IT and BME are two private branches in our college so they charge high in these courses. Other branch students pay 49400 per semester which adds upto 98800 per year. And students who are eligible for the criteria in MMVY scholarship gets the money they have spent on tuition fees and hostel stay fees back. Also the government hostel of our college charges 4000 caution money and tuition fees caution money charges 5000 at the time of admission.

Campus Life

5

The annual fest of our college is aayam which is usually held in the month of February it is of 3 days. Other than this the clubs in our college organises different kind of events throughout the year but mostly the events takes place in the period of September to December because freshers have just come to the college so it gets very engaging because of this reason. The central library of our college contains more than 1.5 lacs of books and the accessibility is also free if you have the library card for 30 days after that you have to pay 1 rupees for one book for every day. The library card is provided to each student who has taken admission in the college. Our college have lecture theatres which are best. Our college is on top when it comes to sports be it chess nodals or lawn tennis nodals or boxing or badminton. Students from our college have gone to Nationals as well. The clubs in our college really makes a great impact on students extracurricular and also on personality development.

Hostel Facilities

5

We are provided with one single bed and one wardrobe. We have common washrooms on each floor. Also we are provided with one study tables and chair. There are windows in each room which is needed as the source of natural light. We also have geysers and are allowed to have kettle in our rooms. The menu of our food is decided weekly we have special meals on Sunday and do not have dinner on Sundays. Whether you will get the hostel or not depends on merit basis of your jee mains percentile and also there are reservations for category students. The locations if I want to live outside the college campus are rani sati gate, vallabh nagar and Malwa mill.

Admission

I actually got a seat in nit surat but there I was getting the chemical engineering branch which I think is not so good for girls. That's why I chose SGSITS because here I was getting the information technology branch which is good for girls. I applied for electronics and telecommunication engineering branch in nit bhopal and surat but couldn't get as I belong to general category. Admission in our college is based on jee mains percentile and also there are reservations for category students. Also you get one more chance to upgrade your branch in second years of your college based on your first year cgpa.

Faculty

4

The exam system in our college is really good and strict at the same time. So in one semester we have 2 mid sem tests which is of 20 marks each. And there are mid sem test 3 as well for students who couldn't give either of the 2 mid sem tests. Then we have end sem exams which is of 70 marks each. We have 2 internals for every subject and 2 assignments as well for every subject and one external for each subject. We also have practical exams for the subjects we had labs. The faculty is really good in our college sometimes during the time of examination they also help us online as well and they are always ready to solve your doubts.

Night Life

4

I live in a girls hostel and we have the curfew time of 9 pm. The library and cafeteria usually closes around 6pm. But the area in which our college is situated is really developed so the night life is good also we have a lot and variety of food stalls just outside the college on a food path as indore is really famous for its food and after coming to those college I do not doubt it anymore. The gym usually closes around 9pm. Famous hangout places in our college is cafeteria, ashok vatika, pineapple garden and cricket ground. Outside the college the famous hangout places are Nehru park, treasure Island Mall, 56 dukaan and Apollo.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If i talk about my specific aspect my brother recomment this college for me and as per of my jee scoure 47374 rank this what i get and i forget to apply for Internal branch change thats why this is how i end up . Curriculum is impressive but it good as in there imagination as its not good in real life. If they apply thing perfectly it really help in personal improvement and overall college performance. They should provide more clubs activity and practical soft skills activity as compare to there tight curriculum of constant memorizing courses I score a really good score not difficult that much and have no complain in frequency and timing but there is a story my IT course they faculty fails to complete my 2 units so in end sem i have to prepare it by my own in 10 days from scratch

I would rate it 6/10 because first year subjects and all are mostly unnecessary i guess. Its not required that much. There should be more focus on coding and problem solving in college which is often neglected.frequency and timing are fine of exams.

Yes that is true there is placements happened but average and low placement ratio there is because of students skills but for employability you can placed out of campus that is good option . After getting degree did mtech was good or other government like exam there was option and also out of campus placement with enough skill demand is a better option more than college placements

Campus placements are moderate as comparatively less companies visits every year. Number of students for placements are more and companies visits are less that cause less placement ratio for on campus. Moreover upto the end of 8th semester almost 80% of students get placed both including on campus and off campus. My plan is to get a job after graduation.
