Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhopal (IIIT Bhopal), established in 2017, is one of the new IIITs under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model by the Ministry of HRD. It is recognized by the UGC and AICTE. It currently functions under the mentorship of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. As per Collegedunia, the institute has been ranked 90th for B.Tech in India and 5th in Madhya Pradesh in 2025.

IIIT Bhopal offers 4 programs, i.e., B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and PhD. IIIT Bhopal Admission 2025

To apply for B.Tech courses, candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized board. Apart from that, a minimum of 50% mark is required in the qualifying exam. For SC/ST candidates, there is a relaxation of 10%, making the minimum marks 45%. Admissions are through JEE Main, followed by JoSAA counselling. For M.Tech and MCA, having a graduation is compulsory. A GATE score is required for M.Tech admission. As IIIT Bhopal is a new institute among the 19 new IIITs, currently it is operating under the mentorship of MANIT Bhopal. About 60 acres of land have already been identified for the construction of the permanent campus.

As per Rudra Navadeep, a student of B.Tech, Cyber-Physical Systems, the campus life at IIIT Bhopal is enjoyable, with Niimack being the annual club event that everyone looks forward to. Hostel Facility

IIIT Bhopal provides hostels to all its girls and first-year boys in Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. Hostels have all the basic amenities that students need, such as a gym, vegetarian mess, spacious open grounds, hot water during winter, etc. Students residing in hostels also celebrate various functions on a small scale. Review Of IIIT Bhopal

Likes

The faculty- our college had experienced faculty members with vast knowledge and friendly behaviour.
The faculty was well educated,they had ongoing phd degree or were holders pf phd degree in different fields.
The dedicated time table and schedule for all the events for a particular year was published before the start of year and was thoroughly followed.

Dislikes

The structure of the college building is not that good as it is still running inside the Manit campus.
The college did not have personal director and was running under the guidance of director of Manit untill 2023.
The college was super fun but still needs improvement in the areas like own building and other belongings .

Student view on course curriculum and exams

Inclusion of Al and ML subjects with practical work influenced me to choose this course.The practical for every subject is taught and well explained by faculty and hence it is really helpful in real world applications.I would suggest to include more specific subjects about different domains if students want to pursue their career in it.The difficulty level of exams depended on faculty members and were of moderate difficulty.For each month we had mini test then after 2 months mid term examination and then at the end of semester,end term examinations.

Internship opportunity provided by the college and its stipend

Company such as Paypal offered intership of 100000 per month also flipkart and alphagrep with the same stipend.Many student made projects including MERN stack and some with Data Science.Overall the resumes were the shorting criteria for many of the companies.

Top company recruiting from the campus, average and highest package

Students become eligible for placements in 5th or 6th sem after which 2 months intership break is provided.Companies include flipkart, paypal, samsung, juspay,etc visited the campus and I dont have in mind exact number of offers made.The highest package offered was 32 lakhs and average of 13 lakhs with profiles like SDE 1 .Placement percentage fall this year from 89? previous year.My plan is to pursue MBA from IIM.

Yearly fees structure and scholarship

I as a student of IIIT Bhopal paid the annual tution fee of 135000 and total fees of 163000(including tution fees).The total fees include registration fee of 1500 ,development fees of 12000,gym and cultural fees of 2200,caution deposit of 5000,library deposit of 5000,examination fees of 2000,medical aid fund of 5000,and other small fees categories.Fees for all the type of categories was same but yess scholaeships were available to avail and get your full or part of fees back.I applied to Medhavi(MMVY) scholarship available to Madhya Pradesh students with merit cum criteria.There were also other central scholarships and statewise scholarships available with different criteria and eligibility.The fees of IIIT Bhopal is increasing by 10? every year for new admissions.

Annual fest and various activity in the campus

Annual fest - NIIMACK which is held every year in the month of october.The IIT students have accessibility for all the books available in MANIT library.Facilities such as AC lab rooms and projector integrated classes are available.The IIIT organises annual sports festival in the month of april named as Sportsluminia.There is regious society called as Inspire group, dance club, singing club and cultural society Aarzoo.

Student views on the faculty and exams

There was faculty for every subject taught in the course and as there were only 3 branches cse,it and ece with around 60 students each the ration of the faculty could be around 1:20.The faculties are friendly and very approachable even many of the members help student in publishing research papers and working on large and complex projects.I personally liked Vishaka Chourasiya Mam and Sonal Mam as they were so kind and approachable in nature.There were 3 types pf exams mini test,mid term and end term exams.For first 2 years there were around 5 subjects each and practical examination with end term theory exams.For 3rd and 4th year the subjects reduced as per choice of students.The curriculum is well defined and follows direction to be a good engineer.

Admission process and eligibility criteria

I wrote JEE exam in 2020 to get selected in IIIT Bhopal, I also applied for many other colleges like IIIT Pune, Nagpur, Allahabad etc but did not get selected as the cut off rank went up that year for these colleges .I made a list with cutoff ranks for the colleges I wanted to get enrolled in and after the completion of JOSAA counseling I got IIIT Bhopal CSE branch as alotted seat.The admission process for my college include successfully passing JEE mains exam and falling under the cutoff rank (different for different categories) and paying fees for the admission.

Nightlife and nearby places

Students have access to Manit gym,library and campus is open 24×7 for all the students.There are franchise outlets inside the campus for food.Cafe Naddu is famous place for hangout amond the students.It is completely safe to roam in night around and inside campus.

Admission:

I chose this college because at my rank in JEE Mains, this was the best college in terms of placement. I didn't apply for other colleges, so there was no chance of any rejection from any other college.

Dislikes

No maintenance,no proper infrastructure!

Admission:

I got this in Csab round 2 so I didn't search it before but after I got IIIT bhopal i searched everything and excited about its campus in Manit and the placements were very good and comparing with other colleges the placement rate is high with very good average package! Admission process is very smooth,there will be no problem, admission process is through JEE

Excess to a very good sports complex of married Bhopal
Compris of various laboratories in manage Bhopal
Gudgudi culture and college due to codame coding club

Dislikes

India most strict institute in terms of rules and regulation
Not having own campus lead to some restriction in Bhopal

Admission:

First of all it is a national college so close your eyes and go for this institute second very good placements as many of the student gets easily place there due to good coding culture of the college and exposure is also good various opportunities

Review Of IIIT Bhopal

Likes

The dedicated time table and schedule for all the events for a particular year was published before the start of year and was thoroughly followed.

Dislikes

The college was super fun but still needs improvement in the areas like own building and other belongings .
The structure of the college building is not that good as it is still running inside the Manit campus.
The college did not have personal director and was running under the guidance of director of Manit untill 2023.

A college good for placements but lacks social engagement

Likes

Regular technical events and workshops are arranged for the students to learn more about professional world.

Dislikes

IIIT Bhopal is dependent on MANIT for many services like sports grounds, library, electrical labs and so on.
The college organises a cultural fest only once a year because of the lack of a high budget.
The campus is only of one building provided by MANIT Bhopal, that may somewhat restrict the scope of an adventurous college life

Admission:

I chose this college over other because of the high placement statistics. The college life is enchanced by the fact that it is in a capital city. Our mentor institute is an old NIT itself. I had applied to other IIITs like Ranchi, Nagpur, Una, Sonipat, but the average package of Bhopal was highest among them all. The admission is done through only the ranks of JEE Mains. This year's approx. branchwise rank cut off (for general, gender neutral) were: CSE (with and without specalisations) : 25k IT: 30k ECE: 35k

My review for IIIT Bhopal as a 3rd year undergrad here

Likes

The senior-junior bond is very good in our college. Seniors are dedicated to help juniors in developing skills, mentoring them about academic and non-academic stuff as well.
Schedule of our college is pretty flexible and very less hectic compared to other IIITs or private colleges. Students have ample amount of time to work on there skills.

Dislikes

There are less active clubs compared to other well established colleges.
College wi-fi is quite slow and computer Labs are not as good as they should've been for a college of national importance.
We have to borrow sports facilities with MANIT as we don't have our own campus.

Admission:

You have to go through JOSAA and CSAB Special round counselling to get into IIIT Bhopal and clear the cutoff in your category in the councelling. Since i was convinced that i will take admission in a IIIT so NITs, IITs and other private colleges were out of contention. For my rank the IIITs that were in consideration were IIIT Pune, Surat, Guwahati, Bhopal, Nagpur, Una and Ranchi. I was given IIIT Ranchi Cse in all the 6 Josaa Rounds and then in CSAB R1 was given IIIT Una and in the last Round i got IIIT Bhopal IT. Pune,Guwahati and Surat were higher in priority but my rank was just not enough for their Cse cutoff. Nagpur's fee was very high so i had lept it below Bhopal Una and Ranchi. Ranchi is far from my city (Bhopal) so it was mmy 3rd priority. Among Bhopal and Una I gave priority tio Bhopal simply because it is my hometown, placements here are very good in comparision to Una.

Likes

Coding culture is good but it needs to get improved.

Dislikes

There is 1 girl for 50 boys in IIIT bhopal.
We can only use MANIT campus selectively.

Admission:

Honestly I was in Madhav institute of technology and science I did my first year there only and then took admission here in 1st year itself. The faculty is good here and there are more opportunities here as compared to mits gwalior

Liked the club's like GDSC and codame for Coding,And arzoo for cultural events.

Dislikes

Not that good infrastructure we don't have campus currently our classes are going on in NTB MANIT bhopal

Admission:

I chose this college for placements, as IIIT focuses on tech areas so placement are decent,there were other colleges like other IIIT in which many I was getting CSE but bhopal placement were ok and was close to my home also.

Admission:

I got this in jossa round and i dont have any particular reason to choose this college but it is located in bhopal which is a decent city almost all the things are available every area sharing auto are too cheap

Iiit Bhopal real review

Likes

We can use nit Bhopal campus and infrastructure and visit their fest
Coding culture in first year with first semester is very good
Senior junior relations are very good and seniors are helpful

Dislikes

Less budget for culture and technical activities
Temporary campus is a slight concern for everybody

Admission:

Since it is a college of national importance for getting admission here one need to clear jee mains and for gen category cutoff for cse is around 29k crl All central level reservation work here except girls reservation in iiit Bhopal there is no girls reservation
