Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is often decided by the Head of Department for each department as it differs from branch to brach . The curriculum in the 1st year teaches the basic and industry level Physics and Chemistry , Maths is a must for all the students even thought they're extremely boring or lengthy. Based on the department they might also have Digital Electronics , Civil related subjects etc. As a student I would want more exposure to the real world applications to everything they teach rather than that just being theory cause then its really boring labs are provided but not for all only the integrated subjects are given labs . The curriculum itself treats us like kids. But the pressure during the exams times are especially high though it's engineering many students yet by heart all the solutions rather than understanding all of them. Better preparation from the faculty side would be much more appreciated.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well depending on the type of admission the fee structure is divided in multiple ways the students from the management pay around 2Lakh per year for the course where people who joined through writing the state exam (KCET) have a lesser fee or 1,30,000 or 1.3L per year. The Quota students such as SC ST or other backward castes get even less fee. As far as the scholarship goes it never reaches the students or its always too late to reach. Scholarships are hard to get even as BE students . Even students with academic talents have problems when it comes to the topic of fee or scholarships.

Campus Life

3

Well all the departments in the college have different technical and non-techinal events . The entire college enjoys the annual festivals such as Kalasourabha , Kannada Rajyostva , Christmas , Dasara and many more. One of the nicest things about my college is the library its big extremely big comapred to the canteen . The book borrow and return policies are also flexible. Alot of space to sit individually or theres a separate space for computer works and group discussions . The labs are well maintained, clean and the software we will use for the semester is already installed by the attenders in the lab making all the work easier for the students. There's multiple clubs too the most popular right now is the Rotract club . Other than that there's the math club , photography club , Event Management club , Sports club , Drama club , Coding club and many many more.

Admission

I applied to around 280 colleges roughly speaking , I didn't wated to go to college in management seat so I wrote the state entrance exam and based on my rank I had to apply for colleges. Considering my rank and the cutoff given by the colleges I wnted to get into it was obvious that they would reject my application. Yet i applied for them i never got into any of them I had applied for RVU, DSU, PES, RNSIT ,SJBIT and many more . Maybe if i had waited a little bit longer I would've gotten a better college than the one which I'm studying at currently but at that time the fear of not being able to join any college was more.So i went with the college which accepted me for my cutoff. The entire process in itself is too stressful. In order to get admitted you have to fill tons of forms do a lot of research and see how far it's located from your home and I had a very limited amount of time to get all of this done.

The course I am taking currently is affiliated to VTU(Visvesvaraya Tecnological University) so all the sem exams , lab externals are conducted from them . They make sure no malpractice takes place and check every student throughly for any attempts of malpractice. The faculty to student ratio is alright based on the number of classses there are and the departments , teaching staff is making sure no class is left unattended. There's 3 exams before writing the main theory sem exam they are the internals . After all the 3 internals are over an average is taken for 50 marks , the reamining 50 marks comes from the sem exam . There are lab externals for certain Subjects such as DSA(Data Structure and Algorithms) or PHP(Hyperttext Preprocessor) they too are conducted by the VTU . They are not easy to clear almost 30% of students fail . Many just pass and are happy about clearing the subject .

Night Life

1

The gym is open to both men and women but at different timings . The timings are in such a way that the day scholars are never allowed the chance to go to the gym at all. The gym open in the evening from 6 to 7 for boys and 7 to 8 for girls. There's practically nothing near or around the college except dust and traffic. The nearest place is gokarting which is far away from the college , the nearest mall is in Rajarajeswari Nagar Global mall ,there's also Decathlon on the way to college. I am a day scholar because the hostel fees is around 1.5L thats almost my yearly college fees yet students opt for the hostel as many of them are either out of city , state or sometimes too far away to commute to college everysingle day. The place is pretty deserted no good place to eat near the engineering colllege if u want good food u have to go to the RRMCH(Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital) after 6 PM there's nothing to be found on or around the college

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ????
