Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is relevant rated 5/10 focusing on core subjects like circuits and networks, power systems and renewable energy. Internal and end semester exams are moderately challenging. And practical exams are conducted separately.

Campus Life

Campus life at gec palakkad is engaging with a balance of academics and other extracurricular activities. Twice a year cultural event INVENTO is conducted , it is technical fest featuring workshops and project showcases.and the college library offers a good range of books and other resources. Student run clubs like IEEE , IEDC, NSS, etc play an active role in engagement.

Admission

I chose government engineering college palakkad for it's affordability, strongly academics and proximity to home. Compared to other private colleges it offered low fees. Admission process include keam entrance exam.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:15 ensuring personalised attention to students.most of the faculty members are approachable and supportive and are ready to help with academic or project related activities.Each semester has internal assessments and one end semester exam.

Night Life

The nightlife around GEC PALAKKAD is relatively quiet, as the campus is located in a peaceful area.on-campus students hang out in the college canteen ( closed by 8 pm), common areas and gym ( closed 8pm)

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The length of course curriculum is very short. It is very difficult for both students and teachers to complete the syllabus in limited time period.The exam timing are also very conjusted and students are facing many difficulties because of it .

IIST - A good campus to live but with high restrictions.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is there in the campus.A lot of companies visit to the campus. From this year more private companies are visiting because of the breaking of bond with ISRO due to which students are getting good package.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
