Course Curriculum Overview
The course I am applying for is B TECH in ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. Students have to prepare and gain knowledge externally ( external knowledge is important to apply for internships or placements) as college teaches in the old fashioned way. The exam gaps are really short, the semester will pass in a blink of an eye
Internships Opportunities
For applying for internal internships (from college) you have to keep minimum of 7.5 CGPA in every semesters , but for applying for external Internships ( not from college) you have to apply from external platforms like LinkedIn or Internshala. Thank you
Placement Experience
KIIT has good placements records for almost all engineering courses with medical branches and KIIT has high NIRF ranking. Having good CGPA ( above 8 cgpa) in 5th ,6th and 7th semesters helps with good placements but still maintaining good CGPA in all the semesters helps in internal intership ( from college) opportunities. But u can still apply for external Internships (not from college). My plan is to apply for Multi national corporations and to go abroad after having the degree of my course ( Electronics and telecommunication).
Fees and Financial Aid
Course - Electronics and telecommunication engineering Fees ( yearly) - 3,80,000 Admission fees - 75,000 Management quota fees - 4,00,000 (negotiable) KIITEE exam scholarship - If percentile is above 90 or more
Campus Life
I've had a good Campus life but making friends and indulging in different clubs and groups are more important to have fun and spending a quality time. Faculties are good . The central library distributes book too. KIIT fests occur in May - June with renowned spacial guests like singers or actors
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is pretty average. Mess food not that good and not nutritious. Washrooms are clean but not that hygienic too. Hostel fees (2 bed AC)- 60,000 Hostel fees( 2 bed non AC) - 50,000 Hostel fees ( 3 bed AC ) - 50,000 Hostel fees ( 3 bed non AC) - 40,000 For single bed and premium rooms 10,000 more
Admission
I had applied for many other colleges like Delhi University, Chandigarh University , Manipal University and many others but KIIT has better NIRF rankings than all with wide campus and plenty of opportunities for internships and clubs to indulge and grow skills . To take admission in KIIT you have to clear KIITEE with good percentile to apply for good courses like Computer Science, Information Technology and Electronics and telecommunication. The cutoff remains at 75%ile
Faculty
Course - Electronics and telecommunication engineering Faculty - most of the professors have good academic background (belong from IITs or have PHDs in their subjects) Most of the professors are good at teaching but some of the professors are unprofessional and rude for no reason There are internal exams of 30 marks (counting attendance , quiz and assignments) Mid semester of 20 marks End semester of 50 marks All total (30+20+50) 100 marks If failed supplementary exams occur after 2 3 months
Night Life
Nightlife is great if you don't live in hostel as hostel in time is around 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm so if u live in PG or flat, you can enjoy the night life . There are plenty of clubs and pubs like opra, D republic etc, in college there is a popular place for friends to hangout known as MBA garden as it is situated beside MBA hostel.
Other Applied Colleges
