IEM SALTLAKE REVIEW FOR NEWCOMERS

It has its own curriculum abided to the AICTE syllabus . It is also linked with IIT form and from this years papers are made by the IIT professors during the end of the semesters. The level of the semester papers are higher than the midterm papers. The exams are very often ere near about 3 in a single semester and the exams are compulsory along with some practical exams as well. But one can easily pass the exams if they pay attention to the lectures otherwise it becomes difficult here to study in one night it cant be done here.

There is a huge opportunities given to the students for interns in various IT comapnies prior to their placements. The TP cell is very active in our college having good bond with them will easily secure u aninternship during your academic days. As an college in IT sector internships are easily available along with their perks.

Placements are generally good in this college. Majority of the students gets placed just after the sixth semester in reputed companies with good packages and ofcourse better than many colleges of west bengal and out. Average package for CSE ECE and IT stream is nearly about 6 lakhs apart from this highest package for this year is being offered by AMAZON that is of 68 LPA secured by 4 students and rest 80% of the students got placed and the placements will continue to eigth semester until 100% or more than 95% students get placed. Students also gets a perk if they pursue their Mtech degree from here after B tech or pursue MBA from this college.

When I took admission it took nearly about 120000 for admission which includes 95000 of 1st semester fees. 95000 is the semester fee for out batch and it readily increases year after year. It also provides various scholarships for economically weaker students along with they also accept SVCM scholarship or any other government scholarship. But at they end of the day this fees is worthful according to the placement!!

No social or political aspects or groups are entertained here no vulgur fests or programmes are allowed frequently without any prior notice. But fests are very common here may be 2 a month which is quite good in this disciplinary college.

Hostel is good but with strict guidelines as in the college so i would suggest to stay in pg and rented rooms becaus here this kind of service are spread all over the area. So accomodation is not a big deal here but about is the hostel is that they maintain more hygiene as well as give better quality living.

I choosed this college as it is best private college in the east india along with better placements even from some goverment colleges . The fees is also reasonable as I applied even for LPU which is hype in cost with low genuine placements i also got chance in goverment colleges out the state but still i rejected those just because of distance and communication I even got KGEC of west bengal which has a very bad college surrounding practices as well as with low placements , so i choosed this marvellous college. It also have a higher NIRF ranking than other goverment colleges.

Faculty to student relationship is very good . Professor are very co operative u can also contact with them even after classes for understanding better concepts. They will readily guide with suggestions and basically exams are hard onky if you are not attentive or your attendance seemed to be lower otherwise rewt of the thing are fine

As it is an IT sector the nightlife is great here along with great malls and food options. After your hectic college day and pressure u can enjoy at the evening with your friend there are also parks and malls all aloang side of the road.
