What Students Say
Likes
- Attending optional classes on sundays only.
- Gives you time to study for your other governmental exams.
- Cources are affordable and also there is no age limit to join.
Dislikes
- I don't know about other cources but my exam datesheets were very hectic, much less time to study for the next exam.
- Always have to check the website for notification before exams, admit card download, registration, etc.
- There's not much to dislike other than these two reasons.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose history as my main subject as it helps gaining knowledge as well as prepares you for upcoming exams you are going to give. The frequency of exams were bad for me as 3 exams were there giving each day a gap. Other than that timings were good it was 2pm - 5pm.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid Rs7200 for this course for the first year which provides hard copy books. Its my second year and I've paid around Rs5k (without the hard copy books). Ignou cources are quite affordable for middle class people like me and also if you're preparing for competitive exams it's quite helpful for you to study at home because you don't even have to attend classes like regular colleges and universities.
Campus Life
Campus was very big. I don't like to attend festivals and other co curricular activities. College was good the faculty was awesome to be honest as previously I wrote I personally know some of the teachers. That's all.
Admission
I didn't applied for any other colleges as i was quite sure IGNOU was best for me. To be honest I was not sure whether to pursue masters degree or not then my friends told me that I can get a degree as well as study for other competitive exams also.
Faculty
I attended a Sunday class at my study centre, almost half of the class was present back then. The teachers were very professional and I personally know some of them. They are very helpful. Sangeeta ma'am is one of the faculty members of history. She's very friendly and a very professional teacher as well. Exams were moderate. Course curriculum is quite relevant because 90% of the questions were from the books they provide.
Night Life
I don't know about the night life around my college campus. Our classes happens usually around the morning time. Campus was too big. It had gyms, library, two big auditorium halls, gardens, parking spots, canteens, etc. Outside the campus are we used to hangout in the tea breaks.
