Likes
- Geographical Settlement: It's settled along the western Odisha mountain ranges giving a calm and quite environment. The weather and Climate is good with no pollution or city noise with picturesque landscape one can never get bored of
- The strength of 125 is ideal so there is any shortage of man work and every student gets equal chances at performing work based activities and learn from it. It provides a good exposure to patients and learn better.
- Not driven in much political agendas and is solely focused on things that are needed
Dislikes
- Campus could have been better. there's lack of playgrounds and other extra curricular activities related equipments.
- Since it's away from any political drama from the looks out it there's lack of funds and development for years since it established whereas colleges in the cities are moving forward
- Lack of PG courses makes it again underdeveloped as junior doctors are not choosing this for higher course studies
Course Curriculum Overview
The Curriculum is entirely based on service. Being a doctor just doesn't mean to read the text and go practice medicine. The ethics, The etiquettes all of those are necessary to being a better doctor and those are covered in the curriculum beautifully without it being a lesson if philosophy.
Internships Opportunities
The course comes with included mandotary internship for 1 year in the hospital to get the necessary clinical exposure that a doctor should have. The 1 year internship includes everything from every department whether it's night duty, emergency care or ICU. The government of odisha has decided a stipends of 40000 rupees for the interns.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course Fees: 1st Year Fees: 26350 2nd Year Fees: 26455 3rd Year Fees: 26455 4th Year Fees: 10155 Additional Fees of Hosteller: 1,2 and 3rd Year Hostel Fees - 12000 4th Year Hostel Fees - 8000 No Category Wise Division Of Fees.
Campus Life
The Education aspect is awesome. But the extra curricular activities can be improved much. The college lacks the basic facilities of a playground, courts, arts rooms or dance rooms. This makes it difficult to practice and follow our passion other than this field. Socially it's same as of other colleges.
Admission
I applied for some other colleges but didn't join them just because my score wasn't good enough on the NEET examination. The admission process idls based on giving an all India based exam called NEET (UG) and admission are based on merits.
Faculty
The Course is divided between 4 years and 18 subjects: First Year: Non-Clinical Subjects: Anatomy, Biochemestry, Physiology 2nd Year: Pre-Clinical: Pathology, Pharmacology and microbiology 3rd Year: PSM and FMT 4th Year: Rest Clinical Subjects. The Faculty are very friendly and approachable since the entire course is based on them. They are also very good at transitioning the coming up from school to college.
Night Life
The city nearly closes off around 10 PM there's nothing much to do during the night time outside the campus. But inside the campus we have a gym which is open 24*7. Some new vendor aur groceries shops are being opened. But if we want to share the night life with friend s in the college campus it's very fun and entertaining
