Course Curriculum Overview

4

Was intrested in physics. Chose engineering physics. Had to do chemistry in first sem. That answers the question itself. In further semesters many degree specific subjects that have real life application in the semiconductor industry and even the tech industry. Frequency of exams is standard. Difficulty of exams remains high but due to relative grading system it events out. Improvement in teaching methods would need an improvement in faculty.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunity is inherently less than placement opportunities. I have little to no idea in terms of on-campus internships but college can arm you with enough skills to crack at any internship you desire

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for placements in 7th semester. Some top examples of companies that visit are Google Microsoft Uber Zomato etc Percentage of places students is heavily branch dependent with CSE branch getting about 70-80% students placed with avg of 16 LPA and ENE branch getting about 50% students placed with an avg of 9 LPA. Note: just because 80% of students are placed means that the other 20% might be intrested in higher studies or might have other plans unrelated to college. Highest package of DTU was around 46 LPA My current plans are to get a good placement but those plans can change considering college lie has just begun

Fees and Financial Aid

DTU fees structure (2024-28) 1st year (2024-25) - 236700/- (95000/- during admission + 141700/- after 1 month college) 2nd year (2025-26) - 246700/- 3rd year (2026-27) - 266700/- 4th year(2027-28) - 286700/- Combined total for 4 years academic fees - 10,36,800/- In case of a subject fail - 5500/- for re-enrollment of the subject in summer semester Hostel fees (different from academic fees) - about 52000/- per year without AC and 72000/- per year with AC Scholarships provided by DTU are to top scoring students in each respective branch. 10000/- scholarship is provided to them.

Campus Life

5

Events held by DTU: Freshers party - AARAMBH Literature fest - YUVAAN Tech fest - INVICTUS Main fest - ENGI All events have a vibe with concerts and multiple events with sponsors and stuff. Library has a wide range of books and can be checked on dtu's website under library page. Atmosphere of library is also lovely for studies. Each classroom has a projector and wirings hooked to it along with AC in all classrooms and most labs (some labs cannot have an ac) DTU has a big sports campus that is open to anyone at any point in time which has many sports and an indoor gym as well. Many NGOs and Self discovery societies also exist in dtu like STEP DTU which can help people

Admission

I got 31314 rank in jee mains and couldn't clear advance. Live near DTU and am delhi resident. Only applied dtu college and none else because no other good college was worth it in vicinity. However there are multiple aspects to consider choosing a college. For DTU mainly they are: more flexibility in academics and discipline than NSUT. Better packages than IPU colleges and a wider campus / campus life than IIIT Delhi. The major engineering campus in delhi one can get from jee mains.

Faculty

3

Currently finished 1st semester. Faculty to student ratio : 1:10 (approx) Names of liked faculty: Dr Sameer Jain (physics) Good sir, cares for Students and is very Frank Names of disliked faculty: Dr SK kumar (mathematics) Bad accent, bad teachings, only teaches the first 2 desks in the class, is threatening to very regard, calls himself "god" and preaches how students should "obey" him without thinking. Doesn't give marks.

Night Life

4

Being a day scholar I have little idea of night life Most famous spots are Night cafe and the Open Air theatre. College campus is safe to roam around at night but surrounding locality isn't. Hostel timings are 10pm closing for girls and 11pm closing for boys

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
