Course Curriculum Overview
Psychology is of course a very relevant and important field of study in today's world and the college provides a good course structure for this subject, with a lab and many testing opportunities available.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides few internship opportunities now and then, however there aren't many for psychology students. With the new curriculum the situation might change. I do not have much information about it yet.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides many scholarship opportunities, however I did not apply for any of those and do not have much details for those. The fees for each semester is usually around Rs700 but can also go upto Rs2000.
Campus Life
The college's main event is AALAP which is held in December and other than that, there are many other functions held throughout the year. The library provides almost every book you need for studying and enough facilities are provided in each department. There are many clubs that a student can join according to their interest.
Admission
I applied to all colleges offering a psychology course in Kolkata and got into all of those. I chose Bethune College as it the best one in Kolkata has one of the top psychology departments all over India. The college has its own way calculating a merit score (based on 12th percentage).
Faculty
There are enough professors to teach us, each excellent I'm their field. The exams are conducted by CU and the answers are checked by externals. The college follows guidelines of CU as it is not autonomous.
Night Life
The college provides a gym, canteen, huge campus area and library for students to hang out. The college is open till late hours and students often linger even after college hours. There are various heritage sites around the college that students can also visit.
